My (ADSL) network connection got a speed increase at beginning of this month to 8 Mbit/s and the price fell to 19.90 /month. It seems that now 8 Mbit/s is the slowest wired connection you can get here in Helsinki.
The connection options here are now:
Wired ADSL: 8 Mbit/s (19.90 /month) and 24 Mbit/s (35.90)
Wired Cable Modem: 10 Mbit/s (24,90 /month), 40 Mbit/s (35,90), 110 Mbit/s (44,90), 200 Mbit/s (54,90)
Wireless 3G/HDSPA: 3.6 Mbit/s, 16.90 /month (unlimited data & usage)
So I got interested what kind of network connection options you got around the world. So I thought I make a internet connection speed poll here. Feel free to discuss!
200/10MB 54,90 / month!
well, hopefully when i go to uni it will be improved - i'm not sure of the exact details, but pretty much every year someone mod's the internet connection at reading university so that, when you want to, every single internet connection on the campus is routed to you.
i cant remember what the speed was quoted to be when they did this, but apparently a blu-ray box set would only take a few minutes
the little icon i have alwys says somewhere between 40 and 60 mbps.Originally Posted by jook13
i think this is the speed you have between computers in your network. so if you wanted to transfer a 100mb file from 1 pc to another it should only take a second or two
