I'm having major issues with physics on items not responding to the triggers. I've checked tons of videos and forum posts and it all seems pretty basic, but they just don't work all the time. I have the triggers assigned to the items and physics set to 'on'.
Here are a few scenarios.
I have a swinging hammer set above a jump and the trigger to it place just before the ramp. Once I start the test run and get to that point I see that the hammer is almost finished swinging, which means the physics started before I hit the trigger.
I have a missile placed above the track to drop close enough to the rider should he not be going fast enough and the trigger placed about 2 blocks before it. I have placed the trigger right under it and even off the track and the missile drops at the same time no matter what.
Other times it works fine with having plates drop or bridges collapse.
I can't understand why this isn't working.
Can anyone offer words of wisdom to a poor tortured soul?
Best guess is you have left the physics on the object in the first place.
If you are using a hammer then sub-select the head of the hammer (hold LB and press A).
Press up on the D-pad and uncheck the physics box.
Now make the trigger activate physics for ONLY the head of the hammer.
This should work fine.
I'll double check the physics boxes and try selecting just the hammer head.
thanks.
Selecting just the hammer head was the key, thanks again
