Skill Game Help
there are a few 'help threads' out there but i wanted one just for skill games and one that includes all skill games, not just one or two like the 'original ski jump thread' recently (which was very helpful)
if anyone has any tips, tricks, hints, suggestions, theories, ideas, whatever about any of the skill games please post them here as a lot of people will benefit from them, including me cos i am shocking at them, hence the reason it was me who started this thread
some people on here are frickin awesome at the skill games so even if something seems really simple or obvious to you, please share it anyway cos there are plenty of people on here (including those who haven't registered) who need help, unless you have secrets too good to share
thanks.

Re: Skill Game Help
Ring of Fire and The Burning Eye Skill Games
Ring of Fire total rings; 64 (Minus secret route which hasn't been figured out yet)
The Burning Eye total rings; 101
The key to a fast time is to get to the end in the straightest manner possible. What I mean by this is you must keep the bike steady throughout without wobbling everywhere. Try to reduce the amount of time free falling (When you don't have boost) because if you lose your boost and then gain it straight away you'll still end up slower than if you'd not lost it in the first place. This is because the speed is slowly applied to the bike.
When landing from a free fall into another ring make sure you land either downwards or straight on, if you land slanting upwards you'll come out of it much slower.
The obvious trick is to watch the top replays for both, this way you'll learn the routes and where every possible ring is located, once you've learned the route it's just a matter of perfecting it.
Some people don't know this but you don't actually have to touch a ring to "pass" through it, you can pass about a metre under the ring and you'll still get it, this is a big help if you're trying for a fast time.
On the Burning Eye (DLC RoF) you'll fall off your bike less if you use the scorpion, nobody knows why, it just does, especially on the upside down section. Also apparently holding the right trigger makes you fly faster, I can't comfirm it but it's just best if you do
Here's a video of my 1st place run on the original RoF (DLC RoF video coming soon!) ; Trials HD - Ring of Fire 64 Rings 1st in the World

Re: Skill Game Help
A few advice i can give-
Ski jumps- use dpad. And make sure you go full speed with a little bit of a wheelie and your front tire flips over the ramp, plus bailout- hugeass jump.
Breakin bones- use dpad to control your landing better, goin farther does not necessarily mean more broken bones, ive gotten 167 ridin off the donkey
its all about holding left trigger and tryin to go directly down on a container then bounce off, rinse & repeat. A little bit of luck also helps.
Ring of fire- use phoenix for the original RoF- you will need it for the quick turns. the dlc RoF- i would suggest the scorpion- the rider falls off less of the time, ive gotten 91 with it compared to 51 on the phoenix. If you can ride it all the way with the evo, more power to ya.
Outside the ball- on the dlc, when the ball starts rollin downhill, try to keep the rider on the back half of it tappin gas to make it go slower, the slower you go, the less you bounce off the ball. I cant really offer much help on this because its more of a feel it. Definitely play the original and practice before you play the dlc version.
Infernal Pinball- took me over 100 tries to reach to the top. what i can tell you is to learn the dynamics of every flipper, lean forward with a touch of brake if its a big one for more height, gas off a small one for more distance. Control your angle and you will get where you want to everytime.
In flames- if you are any good at speedruns on tracks, this shouldnt be a problem for you. If there are certain obstacles that you are not going fast enough on, just ask away and some of us will help you on it.
Dlc bomb delivery- im not going to tell how to drop the bombs, so ull have to ask someone else for that.
Thats all i can think of for now.

Re: Skill Game Help
original wheelie game
if you are REALLY struggling on this one, there is a second path that is alot easier, but stops short of platinum.
on the level, there is a bumpy square log bit. after that there is a hill to climb over.
when you land after this hill, instead of going forwards, you should go backwards and fall down the gap. after that go forwards and it is a very easy path.
infernal pinball guide
(times based on this video)
first tip. use the phoenix - only an idiot would use the micro donkey.
- at 25 seconds, for the jump up to the metal platform, coast down the flipper, and tap the brakes just as the flipper starts. then when your in the air, hit the gas, and you should make it up.
- for the flipper you land on at 31s, aim to land back wheel first with the power on and holding right. that gives you the best chance of staying on.
- at 40s. coast down the flipper while holding left and let it flip you. then, just before you land on the next one, hold right. you should not use the power or brakes at any time.
- at the 50s flipper, you have two options
- option 1 - you land on the left side of it: if you do this, give it a small burst of power to make it to the next flipper
- option 2 - you land on the right side of it: if you do this, hit the brakes, get as far to the right as you can, then reverse, coast back (its slightly quicker) and when the flipper starts, hold the brakes again and hold right. this should get you to the next flipper.
- the final flipper - as soon as you land, hold right and up on the d-pad, and floor it. when you've left the flipper, obviously hit Y and hold up on the D-pad.
DLC bomb run
since you have to dump the bombs to keep up on the global scores these days, heres how to do it from the start.
- at the very start of the level, just hold the accelerator. dont lean or anything.
- when you reach the top of the hill, hold brake, left and down. the bike should end up at about 45 degrees nose down, then roll back.
- go down the hill REALLY slowly, and the trailor will ride up the wall slightly and roll over. if your lucky the bombs will roll out without blowing up.
- drive past the bombs slowly, otherwise you might blow them up by hitting them with the trailor
