I recently bought Trails HD on the sale. I did this with the main intent of playing the user created content... I know from past experiences with it, like Halo 3, Far Cry 2, and LittleBigPlanet, that User created content generally far surpasses the actual game. I was at first dissapointed to hear that there was no way to sort content like in Far Cry 2, and LittleBigPlanet from the game, and was even more shocked they didn't even have a way to download them off the website and have them download when you start the game, like halo 3. Once the shock wore off I've now been having serious fun with the user created content, and will be buying the expansion as most of it requires it...
Long story short, I can't be sitting on my xbox all day waiting for someone to accept it... I go on at least once a day, and usually I'll play different games, (mainly prince of persia as I'm trying to beat it.) Obviously people aren't going to keep me in my friends list forever. So what is the average time most people keep you in? Hopefully it'll be at least 24 hours...
Most will keep you on the list for quite a while... at least a week I thinks.. It helps if you actually deleate the track maker after you get the tracks... It gets old having to deleate a few people every day.
I get a couple friend requests for my tracks a day, and about 20 slots that I cycle through for those requests - I try to leave them on at least a week. If I notice that they haven't been on for most of the week, I'll try to leave them on for two weeks.
Some people get a lot more requests than I do, so they may not be able to leave people on as long, or they might not add people as frequently.
It depends on how popular the person is. I've got one person who's been on my friends list for a few months now'm assuming he doesn't get too many people requesting him). On the other hand, one of the most popular track makers deleted me after a couple days because he probably get dozens of requests. However, I think the shortest amount of time someone's kept me on is about 2 or 3 days. If you go on daily you shouldn't have problems.
I find it really hard to remember who I added and when, so every now and then I remove at least 10 people to create some space.
I generally keep people if they send a message explaining they would like to try my tracks/ give feedback/ are competitive and near the same level as me/ or if they have a regular turn over of awesome trracks for me to try.
I used to get dissapointed when they deleted me, but at the end of the day, I got what I wanted from them![]()
Creators generally like thier work to be apreciated, so make them feel like they're doing you a service and they're more likely to hang on to you.
I tend to keep people for as long as possible and until another space is needed by someone else.
Top custom track makers I will never remove mainly because their tracks are amazing
People that just send me a FR to get my tracks and never give feedback or message are generally the first to go once they have all my tracks.
I get roughly 5 FR's a day, it's because I'm a well known Halo 3 forger and so the majority of them are for that....the problem is I can't tell. When I get a FR I'll view their profile and if they was playing Trials last I'll accept, it's a problem because the majority of them don't send me a message like I ask in my bio![]()
80% of my friends list have been on there since the 360 first came out and I won't delete them and they won't delete me, the other 20% have either been for helping each other with achievements or for trials related things and I'll delete them as I need room and they probably do the same thing. I usually won't wait longer then a day for someone to accept my friend request, same goes for me accepting them.
The user created content is an awesome feature of this game, but the game would easily stand on it's own without it. Give it a chance, trust me you'll be addicted in no time at all.
I'm pretty good at halo forge. I'm definitely better at making maps on that then tracks on this. You should see my turbine or helix, halfpipe or bowl.Originally Posted by T4KShadow
