One of my friends who has trouble getting gold on many of the tracks managed to get in the top 500 of the first hill climb. When I watch certain replays, I notice that they hold down the gas and don't let go at all. Their bike also makes a weird sound - I can't manage to get my bike to make that sound.
Improved my climb by 3 meters...now only 6k people in front of me![]()
Come to think of it, it doesnt take alot of skills for someone to watch a top replay and copy that, hence alot of people high on quick-n-out skill games (hill climb, ski jump, breakin bones) but they cant exactly copy a top replay on harder tracks cus theyd have to actually do it themselves!
yeah having read your replies i guess theres a lot of reasons for "easy being harder than hard"
to a lot of people Trials is one of them 'pick up an play' games (to me and all of you, its much more) but most just have a quick go every now and then and easy tracks and skill games are far easier to 'pick up an play' than putting in the time to learn the routes and techniques of the harder stuff, which i find more rewarding.
when you add all the other reasons its actually easier to do well on the hard/extreme tracks in comparison mainly cos there's less competition.
it is sort of annoying because there are less skilled riders (overall) with better times than some of us on many of the tracks but if i had to choose between better global ranks on easier or harder tracks id stick with hard. makes me feel more skilled and my ego is the reason im addicted to this game![]()
I surprised to see people struggle to get into the top 1000 on the easy tracks. I found it easier to break the top 100 on the easier tracks rather than the hard and extremes. I don't know why it is the opposite for me
thats interesting, suppose its like i said in the original post about different skill sets.Originally Posted by jhop420

It's definitely tougher for me to get better times on the easier tracks. I guess I am not as precise as many riders, and this is why I stay away from Short custom tracks.Originally Posted by jhop420
If I had to try to explain it, I would say that I am decent at finding flow on the harder tracks, and decent at pulling it off. However, When the flow is given to you, such as on many of the easier and medium tracks, I'm not as skilled at shaving those milliseconds off with shortcuts. The same applies to the hard tracks, however, there are less people that are able to find the flow in the first place.
My explanation could be all wrong, but that's the way I see it.
im exactly the same lesprit. also i find that i enjoy harder tracks more for whatever reason which means i put more time and effort into them. i think if i spent long enough on an easy track i could probly get top 100 but it would take a while, same goes for skill games which have got a bit less aggravating recently. got my plat on the in flame dlc![]()
another thing to consider is the fact that it takes many more attempts to 0 fault a hard track in the first place....so you get to know the track a lot better by the time you actually can 0 fault it.
I find that just going for platinum takes a lot of practice and when I finally pull it off I'm in the top 2k easily just from the amount of practice it took to make the run that good!
On easy tracks you can plat a lot of them with little effort so it takes more time to climb the leaderboards.
Just my opinion of course, and I'm often wrong![]()
I suck so hard on beginner, easy and medium tracks. Probably about 20.000# on every track. But Im on of the best on ninja and extreme tracks...or just more advanced stuff.![]()
