obvious ones a fan but if you want to go out of the box you can use dummy pivot as base and force rotate the rock to make an asteroid field, I'm using it in my new map but I bet a lot of people could find better uses than me.
    anyway here's some ideas:
swinging hammer constantly rotating, any type of rotating platform, floating objects spinning in the air, oh yeah and a piston rotating so it takes more timing to pass through

I have been thinking about a rotating round staircase, that whould spiral you upwards. since I'm a complete noob I couldn't pull it off, but maybe somebody else can.

I was actually working on a similar thought, with the staircase, and a FR Slow. I can get it to rotate with three steps, but adding anything more than that.. and it goes crazy. Breaking it into pieces, and the rotations are never the same, even if you link the physics to a trigger.

Ah.. no video capture.. or I'd throw up a vid of what the starting case looks like. Basically its a large wooden box for the base, the hinge set to rotate with the track direction (right to left), a log - square stacked vertically, and three wooden ramp plates (small) as the stairs. I've staggered the plates at the same height all around ( I started using a piece of short plank to make sure they were pretty even, going two high ) but adding that 4th piece, no matter how or where I place it, and the thing goes crazy and starts slinging pieces around the board like mad.

    Any suggestions?

I tried doing a spiral staircase designed like a corkscrew but learned that gravity isnt your friend... I did it with free rotation but that part wont matter when dealing with gravity... I have seen it done in a youtube video... but cant recall the link...

    Edit:

Actually 1 way that COULD work... is placing 4 object per a rotation device and place 3 rotation objects above each other... Added together could simulate the staircase... but I am not sure if would flow right... GL though...

Its already been done, going down anyways. icry's track called "circles". I think his gamertag is DrPepso now, he's got some really cool tracks, very innovative creator. I saw an upward spiral in a track track called "daliesque" I think it was, but I can't remember the creator.

use some dummies to counter the gravity on certain heavy parts, that'll help

This response may be a bit late, but I got some upwards spiral thing done and made a track, if anybody's interested send me a fr. It's called go for a spin. gt: kawakka
