    Intermediate/ Advanced tutorial video suggestions

I'm starting a series of video demonstrations of different techniques used to perform some of the trickier jumps/shortcuts over in this thread. It's basically slowmotion segments of some of the replays, which helps show the timing of the button presses. I started with the first jump on Inferno, and I'm planning on doing the shortcut under the loop on Fiery Justice, and the big jump on Ladder Madness (which clears the tire), and maybe the final fast shortcut on No Air, and the start of YSNP.

If anyone would like to suggest any other jumps, or particular techniques please post them here and I'll try to get them done soon.

Re: Intermediate/ Advanced tutorial video suggestions

Ok, you're probably gonna get more than you bargained for here as there are tons of jumps with advanced technique in the game. I'll just throw a few out off the top of my head:

krzykd101's run on Grindhouse. Check the flip at the /\/\/\/\/\ part, it's pretty damn advanced. Unique too, Hugh does it in his run as well but doesn't nail it like krzykd does. I *think* Hugh came up with it though but I'm not sure.

Hugh's technique on Pipedreams. Near the end, right before the big fall. He doesn't stop right before it, just flips like crazy. If he had nailed the very ending, we would have had an almost unbeatable world record. I think this is Hugh's brainchild as well.

Mine and Jmn's ending section on Speed wheel, after the big ramp at ~17 seconds. Landing on the backwheel and just immediately keep going. Very hard to do. I'm pretty sure Jorko came up with this technique!

The Let it flip bounce. In the middle of the track. Check the #1 run. Crazy fast, and very eye-appealing too. Everyone hates this jump cause it's so hard. It's actually much easier than it looks, people just haven't figured out the technique yet This is SYLAR's idea from the start.

Bumpy road, krzykd101's run, at around 11 seconds in. Flipping and getting a mad boost off the three similar-looking platforms. Also pretty hard until you figure it out. Don't know who came up with this idea, but nowadays it's in all the top runs.

Where's the ground, check the #1 run, ~13 seconds in for the first shortcut in the track. This trick is relatively new (a year old lol) and totally revolutionized the track. I have no idea who came up with it, I just remember one day I saw some nonames in the top15 who used the technique.

Death Slopes, the very start. Check SYLAR's run. Looks really good and is a superior technique compared to the most commonly used where you land on your front wheel. I think SYLAR came up with it too.

The start of Speed Jumps. Check terve's #1 run. I think AkaM's start is almost equally good too. terve came up with it. I haven't mastered it yet, for me it's one of the hardest techniques in the game.

The Domino effect start. Hate it, but it's pro-looking. Check whichever top run you want.

Man there are just tons of tricks and weird techniques in the game, I could sit here all day, and could probably mention every last track in the game and refer to some weird technique, that's how evolved the game is nowadays. These were just from some of my favorite tracks.

Wow, yeah, that's quite a list. If you're sure these techniques are immitatable, and not just random luck, then I'll do them. I'm glad you pointed me to individual replays, it will be easier than doing lots of different versions (like inferno). I promised Mike9 that I'd do his 3.50 run on T1 next, but I'll get to these soon.

A cool start to what could become a very interesting and entertaining series. Good job, Godmil.
I only hope enough peeps of the target-audience (>50 global) are still around these forums so your effort will pay off in the end.

Concerning the Inferno videos, not that I actually plan to copy styles like this in the next 25 or so years, but it's surprising to see that there is such a diversity in clearing that jump even in the high ranks.
My vote for coolest technique goes to AkaM, such a seamless jump over the whole first part.

Thanks Stullie, yeah, I never noticed until I was seeing it in slow motion how Akam completely cleared the obstacle.
Akam, if you're about, do you do that everytime?

Next set of videos will be up in a few mins, with the T1 perfect runs.

Edit: Sylar's Death Slopes start will be up soon too.

Yeah about randomness, check xFilurenx's run on death slopes (top20 somewhere). Stuff like that makes you wonder just how many unknown tricks there are left in the game, and how much the world records could potentially be improved.

Re: Intermediate/ Advanced tutorial video suggestions

This is a great idea. I don't know how many things people are gonna learn from these videos, I'm sure it's gonna be fun though!

Inferno start was the best choice to draw everyone's attention .

Since you asked, I don't always clear the first barrel on inferno jump. Sometimes I just throttle on it to gain speed, it depends on how powerful the jump comes out. Both ways are pretty fast when done right.

Now, as for tracks/shortcuts to recommend, not much I can think.
Maybe the ending of m1, jump before the last checkpoint on h2, 3 walls on diablo.

    Thanks Akam.

Latest ones now are Bumpy Road and Grindhouse (as suggested by Norfair), and the big jump from Ladder Madness, all by krzykd101 (took me ages to learn the spelling of that name before I noticed that it's like 'krazy kid' - you don't want to know how I used to pronounce it )

Got the next 4 half done, might be able to get them out today.

dont worry, took me ages to get it too. I thought he was polish/american for the longest time and that his real name was like krzyklowski or something
