i think i was just really lucky with getting my world championship platinum. ive been trying it daily for about a week, and then the first time i got past King of the Hill without any faults i nailed it. not the best time though (8:58) but just enough for platinum. i think my worst experience was on Dynamic Range, were im currenly 5th. i was almost 2 seconds ahead of my time and landed on my back just before the finish line. but f*ck it, one day (soon) i'll get it. keep positive.
im still on 1 fault on inferno but maybe 2 weeks ago i got to the 3 hammers twice in a row and got hit... no if i just play to the end the hammers never hit me... and yes the toys were out the pram and i went to beer shop....
You and me both man. 1 fault on Inferno and thats still after gettin plat on Diablo. Im gonna give World Championship another go tonight and ill post back my sob story.![]()
got wc down to 4 faults but to be fair it should of been 1 or 2.... i mean twice my rider just freaked out and i swear it wasnt my fault...
Two come to mind for me:
At the time i was ranked in the 80's or 90's, on my 5th or 6th day of doing original Ultimate Endurance, KOTH is 2nd to last track and i make it through with 0 faults for the first time, all i have to do for the achievement is make it through Jolly Jumper....I don't even make it past the first jump. To this day plywood is my most hated material to ride on. Later that day i made it through again and overshot the part where you go down the long ramp. The next day i got it and it felt amazing. I was a much better rider after spending so long on it, and improved more than half of the times on the tracks from the tourny.
Pretty much same deal with Midnight Club. Spent a week+ to get to 2 faults, left it alone for a week, then Papheretti & LostNR got 0 faults. So started working on it again, got it to 1 fault in 3 days during which Boris got it while i was trying, one minute he had 4 faults next he had 0, took me 3 or so more days to get to Greatest Hits with 0 and i faulted on an easy part right after 3rd checkpoint. So after spending around 2 weeks on it i'm moments away from 0 faults and i choke on an easy part. Thats the soul crusher, getting so far but messing up on a part that up until then gave me no trouble.
Same deal as with UE, after spending all that time on those tracks i improved on all 6 extreme tracks.
With both tournaments i went through the whole throw your controller thing, which did nothing for me other than make me feel immature. Luckily the controllers are designed to take a beating otherwise i'd have spent 100$+ on new controllers. Also curiously both tourneys made my hands sweat, never in my life for any reason have my hands gotten sweaty and certainly not for a video game.
I tried to find a perseverance motivational poster but they were all lame. ben, if you got there once you can get there again, just persevere. It feels so good to beat you albatross tourny and it will undoubtedly make you a better rider.
Inferno II before I zero faulted it... I was at the last checkpoint around 15 seconds faster than my previous 1 fault record, and with zero faults... and one of the hammers hit me
And I haven't got that fast run since...
Ender, your old UE tales sound worse than my worst moment to be fair. i think you pretty much win the worst Trials moment ever imo! that first obstacle on jolly jumper is deceptively tricky...
well i only had 20 minutes on it last night. played 5 a side football and so was too tired to play. had 3 goes and didn't even come close. so i'm re-assessing my plan and plan to have it down by May instead![]()
Managed to nail a 1 fault run Ben so I'm just back infront of you
My troublesome obstacles seem to be the start of Classic and the jump on KotH after the backflip (thats where my fault came from)![]()
saving the default track overtop of an almost finished one..
