Hey all,
Over the past few days, after about 20 minutes of playing customs, I've been noticing that it takes a good 20 seconds to load up a track. It takes a long time to do anything really (scrolling through menus, backing out of menus, etc, etc.)
I have 500+ tracks loaded up on my HD and MUs, and I've had close to that for awhile now, but only lately have I started having problems.
Does anyone else get this kind of slowness? Or should I start watching for the RRoD?
The user track menu becomes slow if it contains more than around 400 tracks. I recommend moving some of the downloaded tracks you no longer play to a secondary profile (extra silver profiles are free to create). Alternatively if you have an extra memory unit, you can copy the tracks you no longer actively play to it and disconnect it (reconnecting only when you need those tracks).
Thanks, sebbbi.Originally Posted by sebbbi
I was just going to wait for the dashboard update to hit in April so I can use USB keys to store my extra tracks. Hopefully the game will be able to read from USB keys when the support is added?
All games should support USB-memory sticks without any modifications needed (it's basically just a bigger memory unit).Originally Posted by lespritdelescalier
Yea, that USB support will be great for Trials HD players. I'm gonna buy a whole bunch.
I've been moving mine around recently, so I got ones from my fav creators on my HD (around 200) and the rest are shared between 3 mem cards (200 on each)
The console won't display more than 603 tracks, so I can't have them all together, but having them all in seperate locations, I don't get so much lag.
Like the USB stick idea, it's getting a PITA trying to find cheap mem units and I got about 5 USB ones around the house.
