    Question about Analog stick input

How analog is the left stick input?

The proper input would be perfectly left - right or the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position. Often times on replays I see input in the 8 o'clock - 2 o'clock range for example.

So that got me wondering if the game perceives less range on the input and perhaps it would make a move like the bunny hop less efficient. I remember reading somewhere that there were only four different speeds on the engine and rider position. If that's the case, then minor errors in stick position would be negligible.

However, if the stick is completely analog, then it could have an impact on performance. Any developers or well informed Trials players out there care to respond? Thanks in advance.

good point here, i know that ski jump and down the stairs, D-PAD works best because you can get a more precise 45 Degree angle

most of the time i use the dpad for direction...but i understand what you mean, with the analog your gunna have to be quick, rough and really throw that stick around to register exactly what you want, i had this problem playing umk3 with the xbox controller, except the question you have is inverted to the problem i had in umk3, in umk i need to be specific on left and right, but i kept doing diagonals and jumping all over, it jus takes some getting used to, eventually, you wont even notice and it wont be a problem, that's probley why most of the users haven't notice, they're used to the controller they dont even think twice about it lol

Dpad is better only in 45 degree angles (as the up-down motion handling is kind of bad). You get full force bunny hops with all analog sticks we have tested. The four steps are 0%-25%, 25%-50%, 50%-75% and 75%-100%. All analog sticks give considerably more than 75% when fully pressed left or right (any value more than 75% equals 100% force).

Am I the only one who ONLY uses the D-Pad?

I find it a lot less fickle and a lot more sturdy than the Analog Stick.

I guess everyone is different though...
