Dear Trials 2 friends!
Please, could some kind soul give me a detailed orientation about how are made the individual and country score stats?
I mean, its not hard to realize that when you are in 50.000 world position and gain for instance 2.000 positions in a certain track, you gain lots of positions also in world score. Right now Im reaching such frustration point that even gaining like 500 positions in a track I just receive 1 or 2 points in world score![]()
Another doubt - how Redlynx compute the country scores? There are countries with almost 20.000 players (USA) and others like Russia or Brazil with a little more than 1.000 . They get the 100 top player scores average results of each country or something like this? How it works?
Thank you very much in advance!!!
Check out this thread for an explanation of the maths.
Also if you use this comparison site, one of the colums tells you have many points you get per rank place. (Tip: the harder the track the more points you get).
Hope that covers everything.
Godmil thank you very much! I was searching this info for a long time already!
Please tell me what conclusions did you reach when doing your spreadsheets besides hard tracks compensates more?
Best regards!
Ok, if you have the same player name as your forum username, then this page will have your scores:
http://zeeing.de/trials/compare.php?...user2=giantani (ignore mine)
If you look at the 4th column next to your name you'll see on some tracks like Concrete Mayhem you're ranked 743rd which gives you 99.11 points... if you were to really work hard on that track you're unlikely to get more than 0.7points. While if you can complete Inferno (even with 500+ faults) It's a guaranteed 10 points - probably a great deal more.
With each rank being worth more points on the harder tracks it means you have to be closer to the top spot to get the most points... on say Tutorial4, you can get 99 points by being ranked #1000th, while to get 99 points on say Dizzy you need to be about 200th. So in many ways if you're in the top 1000 on the easy tracks you don't need to spend much more time on them, better to concentrate on the harder tracks, or the Downloadable ones (as fewer people have played them - making them equivilent to hard tracks))
if you can complete You Shall Not Pass (which isn't easy I'm afraid) every single rank is worth 0.12 points, so an impovement on that will make you shoot up the leaderboard.
Good luck.
Godmil, thank you very very much my friend!!
You explained exactly what I was searching for!! Sometimes is a little hard to understand in wich tracks we should concentrate our efforts...
This info that you gave me is very precious, and not easy to find out... maybe we should think to create a Trials 2 guide with such info, tips & tricks ... the tutorials that we find in forum and some other places like "youtube" are very nice, but we could putt all this info together and create a master manual of Trials2 ... this should be very nice!
And my congratulations to you, I saw you are one of the best players in the world!!
hehehe, thanksThough I'm not actually that good, I'm a couple of tiers below the best players, I'm just very patient about hammering away on one track for hours and hours until I get lucky
A tips guide would be pretty cool. I think the scoring information is really imporant if you want to go up the ranks quickly, that's why it was great after Jorma told us how it worked (in the thread I pointed you to), which lead to Stulli making the comparison site with all the points information. I'm just surprised that it took this long for the information to be available.
Oh, and be sure to set up your forum profile to point to your Trials name, so I can keep track of your rank improvements on the forums![]()
Thank you once more Godmil !!
I followed your advice and putt my Trials2 nickname ... but Im 1100 position!! and people here (like yourself) are masters !!! They are in 20´s , 30´s score position![]()
Now I feel the obbligation to improve my stats !!![]()
I will be looking all the time the page that you sent me to search for the tracks that will give me better results![]()
I believe the information you are referring to have been around for quite some time. Probably not many people knew in detail how ranking points calculation works but this has changed lately, mainly because of the stats comparator by Stulli. I think most people knew the general idea though, hard tracks give more points per rank and so on.Originally Posted by Godmil
Giantani, I think you should take things slowly, don't go straight to hard tracks just to get more points cause you might find it hard. Although you are not exactly new, your playtime is over 100 hours so maybe you are up for the challenge.
In general for someone wanting to improve his global rank I would advice taking it slow. First easy track, then medium and for last hard. But anyway whatever you do, have fun!![]()
yeah, if you're not having fun, go for a different approach. Personally, I tried to get all my track ranks down below 1000, then 500, then 400... going for 100 at the moment, but it's not the best way to speed up the leaderboard.
The reason I recommended doing the ultra hard tracks is that he's already nofaulted everthing upto Shortcut, and just 3 faults between KotB and Steal & Concrete, so he's clearly got some skill. I think a lot of people avoid the ultra tracks because they think they're impossible, but they're all very doable... you just need to watch lots of replays to get some tips.
Hi AkaM ! Its a honour to receive an answer from 4th best player in the world!!
Im trying to play every track first flawless (except 3 hardest ones) ... and them to speed up my times ...
Im also trying the 3 very hard tracks, diablo I´ve managed till the point after the montain, but it took me one hour and game banished meYSNP and inferno I can´t beat the first obstacles... so, you can see my limits ...
I know it doesn´t mean too much but Im already 9th best player of Brazil![]()
I need to understand how to pass 1st obstacles in inferno and YSNP !!
Thank you very much for all your orientations!!!
And thank you Godmil very much for all your support!! yes, Im playing already for some hours, now I need to learn the tricks to improve my times and scores, like the nose boucing in domino, to control better the flips, understand how to make 120m in wheelie tracks etc ...
