Re: The final word on DLC physics tracks. PLEASE VOTE!

It took about 30 seconds for the interesting novelty of the "full physics" levels (1-Bit Trip and Space Station) to wear off. Now they're just annoying to play, because the technique required to play them well is so different than normal tracks.

Both of them were also a huge pain to Platinum, and I don't know that I'll be going back much unless I decide that I desperately need to improve my score for some reason. And the tournaments, bah.

(Hint for Space Station: use the Scorpion bike, not the Phoenix. Much easier to control.)

For the "some physics" levels, I hate them less, but the unexpected "why am I falling to the RIGHT instead of falling DOWN" can still throw you off and kill a good run.

"I like tracks with physics, because they switch things up. " -lespritdelescalier

I agree with this... when I'm sick of playing the normal tracks I usually will play space station or 1-bit just to change it up. Also the skill games are good for a little change of pace, when I get sick of racing all the time.

I would like to think that im open to all types play within this game, even the skill games. But when I look at what im actually playing, I rarely play the skill games (Except the fire runs and hill climbs) and I also raley play physics tracks.
I havent played space station since I acheived the platinum months ago and I cant stand junkyard becuase its so inconsistent.
I would much rather play a non physics track any day, although I dont mind things that fall and drop throughout the track, as long as they dont affect what im doing because it does look good and makes the track more interesting, but I dont really like the fire boosters, fans and platforms that boost you.

I agree with the comment about the physics objects having to work 100% of the time and I think this is demonstated in dynamic range, I think this is good track but everything is trust worthy and predictable.

In the next game or DLC I would like a mix but definately less physics and more normal stuff.

Tough question, but if I'm honest, I spend more time avoiding them.
The only time I ride the DLC physics tracks, is in tourney's and if I feel I can beat my previous best with a new short cut.
I don't think they are too much of a problem, but are better in skill games, than in the middle of a track.

    Good poll BTW.

Its hard to vote when you have no middle option ?

I wouldnt want ever single track to be physics tracks, but then if they took them away if would take away a really fun element of the game.

I think Redlynx has got the dlc spot on imo, all the tracks are absolutely spot on and have all their own different qualities, from the monkey bike track through to 1bit trip and then the anti gravity track etc

Its good RL are showing us what they can do, if the dlc had no physics tracks it wud be boring, no?

I just hope this poll doesnt put off RL from making many more fine tracks in the future??

I doubt it will, constructive criticism is always useful. If anything, it will help them get the next one even more spot on!

yea i think that Space Station and the end of fantastic are really bad tracks. The beginning of Fantastic is Awesome! the end with the fans sux tho so im saying i dont like the DLC physics tracks. but i still like tracks like Lets Get Physical.

yes i'm hoping for that to be honest. if the Big pack was released tomorrow and i knew what i knew now... i'd still buy it immediately. there's WAY more good than not-so-good (don't want to say bad, i don't think it's bad) in the pack that's for sure. it remains, imo, the biggest gaming bargain since i bought Trials HD for 1200 MS points

i'm thinking now it was such a big pack because they did want to experiment a little, so they put in physics-heavy tracks along with regular Trials ones to test the water.

There have been several comments about physics objects ruining a perfect run - i.e. Fantastic.

Sometimes I wonder if the last beam in Inferno II has some hidden physics mechanism that makes it grab my rider's rear wheel. Seems like the trigger is activated when I approach it with a zero fault run.
