No, go ahead and use whatever info you need to update yours.
Yeah, it has a lot of columns. I have a widescreen monitor, and I also work with data/spreadsheets/databases for a living, so I tend to like to see lots of data at once
To simplify it visually, there are a bunch of columns you could probably hide without changing how it works.
Alright thanksOriginally Posted by MegaTrainWill add you to the credits of the sheet of course! I just gotta find some time to do it. Sadly haven't even played Trials in a long while
Also you can hide columns!?!? =-o How do you do that?
Just right-click the header of the column you want to hide, and click "Hide". That, or change the column width to 0.Originally Posted by Jarr3tt88
To un-hide a hidden column, you'll need to highlight the columns surrounding it, then right-click and choose "unhide".
I know this is a little late, but on the summary page, I added a column at the end to indicate my score's percentage of possible score. This helps me know at a glance where I should focus my attention if I want to improve my points. It's not difficult to figure it out by looking at the numbers, but a percentage is a nice clean number.
If you want to add this yourself, here is an example:
For Races, Orig grab an empty cell ( I used I10 ), and put in the formula:
=B10/H10
You can also just type in the equals sign and then click B10 with the mouse, type the / sign and then click H10.
Each other line you want to calculate the percentage for is a simple modification, but I've included them for simplicity's sake. Just copy/paste in:
Races, DLC: =B11/H11
Tournaments, Orig: =B15/H15
Tournaments, DLC: =B16/H16
Skill Games, Orig: =B20/H20
Skill Games, DLC: =B21/H21
Formatting: After you've done this, it will probably show a decimal number like 0.89526. Regardless of the version of Excel you are using, you should be able to highlight the cell or adjacent cells and right-click* on them. Choose "Format Cells" and select "Percentage" on the Number tab and specify the number of decimal places you want.
* I don't even know if Microsoft makes Excel for Apple computers anymore. The "right-click" reference was not a shot at Apple users. I am not making fun of your computer's disability.![]()
Hopefully this has been a clear explanation for even those who consider themselves confused when they look at formulae on an Excel sheet.
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
The percentages are a nice addition, lespiritdelescalier. Maybe we'll add them to the template.
Don't forget you can put the formula in to one cell, format it the way you want, then copy it down to the other rows. You don't have to manually enter each formula.
Wow, my percentage for DLC tournaments is a pathetic 17%! Sounds about right, I haven't really been concentrating on them...
Yeah, I know they can be copied down. At an old job, I was also the spreadsheet guy.Originally Posted by MegaTrainI just figured it would be easier to explain than using a fill down command or CTRL-D.
My DLC Tourneys is only at 58%, because of Midnight Club. I suspect it'll be low for awhile.
SIMPLIFIED INSTRUCTIONS
Sorry if anyone finds the spreadsheet a bit complex. I do this for a living, so I put in lot of extra bells and whistles, but if you just want the bottom-line "where do I have the most potential for increasing my leaderboard position", here are the bare necessities:
1. On the "Races" worksheet, enter your values in column E (faults) and column F (time).
Potential for improvement will be displayed in columns O, P and Q. Ignore all other columns.
2. On the "Tournaments" worksheet, enter your values in column E (faults) and column F (time).
Potential for improvement will be displayed in columns O, P and Q. Ignore all other columns.
3. On the "Skill Games" worksheet, enter your values in column F (score).
Potential for improvement will be displayed in columns N, O, and P. Ignore all other columns.
4. On the "Summary" worksheet, look at the figures labeled "Total Increase from Attaining" (in cells D8:F21). These should help you figure out whether to focus on Races, Tournaments, or Skill Games.
Thats it!
In fact, there are a lot of columns you could probably hide to make the entire thing much easier to follow. On the Races sheet, for example, you could hide columns A:B, columns I:M, and columns R:U, leaving you with only 3 green columns (to enter data) and 5 calculated columns with the most important info.
Umm so I've never really messed around with Excel but when I was entering stats in I accidentally messed up the information or whatever it's called (the math behind the cell) in one of the cells so the calculations for it is completely messed up.
In other words, I modified one of the yellow cells on accident.
Is there anyway to fix this?
I'd say that since there's no way for us to see or tell what you did, just download a new copy from trialshd.net. I know it kinda sucks to re-enter all of your times, but that's probably the easiest way for you to make sure it's all good..Originally Posted by Eddy23
Sorry I don't have any other suggestions..
download it again off trialshd.net and then copy/paste your correctly entered times and faults. should take about 5 secondsOriginally Posted by Eddy23![]()
