Is it possible to place checkpoints when you backtrack?

Let me explain. I'm making a multi-level track that has lengthy sections where the bike gains momentum going up a ramp and then rolls backwards to different sections of the track. The checkpoints don't seem to work on the left side of the track when the bike travels from right to left instead of left to right. Hope that makes sense. thx

If you place one and then go down and backwards, the one below won't work if it's to the left of the first one.
It will work if you put the first one back a bit and make sure the next one is to its right.
    Hope that made enough sense?

Ya, I know what you are saying. That's what I thought. Maybe I'll just make those sections a little easier so people don't have to restart from far away if they mess up. Thanks.

Another way to do it would be to have alternate ending, but that will only work on the last one.

I usually don't enjoy maps where you have to drop back and down, then forward etc. Try and avoid these.

yeah i wish it worked, i made a track that was suppose to be like a cube, but, the checkpoints failed. the track itself really isn't bad, but the checkpoints jus make it insanely hard

I'd link a video but my youtube was just suspended I made a track called 'Rollback', which is mostly backwards. The track is basically in a pit and you advance downwards through "levels." To get to the next level down you have to rollback to activate a trigger. It was difficult to get checkpoints. They can't be behind the start line, which is why the level ended up being like in a pit.

yeah, and the other checkpoints have to be infront of eachother, like checkpoint 2 can't be infront of checkpoint 3, if it is, you'll always be on checkpoint 2, checkpoint 3 would be useless

small note here, ive also found that checkpoints onna rickety physics bridge also read on the path below thru the space between bridge boards.. i always incorporate a cieling above or a floor below my checkpoints. most of my platinum routes catch little to none checkpoints. plats are usually 0 faults anyways.
Burn em down to rebuild em to burn em down again...

I had this trouble when I made a level with the start and finish about 5 bike lengths apart, being seperated by only a wall. The idea was that you had to go right the way round underneath it and then circle back in from above. in the end i had to keep it quite short with only 2 checkpoints as they have to be between the start and finish. it turned out to be quite a fun little level though.
