Global points are first calculated by faults, and then by medals. So any time with 10 faults would give you more points than any time with 11 faults. The points aren't really a significant amount unless you have a couple faults at the most.Originally Posted by ben1bob

Global points are calculated by time and then modified by the amount of faults in a way that better score always gives you better points. The actual medal you have is not directly linked to the global points you have. Think the medal as an achievement, once you get it, you cannot lose it. Due to the way we give medals, a better score (less faults) might not always award a medal if your time is slower.
