I spent a couple hours today weeding out those lest few seconds on the last 4 Hard tracks I had to get Platinum for and got another Extreme one too!
I got Unfair Bombardment, Donkey Business, Isabelle, Prison Break and Groundhog Returns Platinum today and started on Greatest Hits, but still need to find 10 seconds somewhere! Plus I did Inferno II and Going Up yesterday!
Anyway, just wondered if anyone else got to a stage like this where it all started coming together?

I'm not quite as far as you, but I finished up my last medium platinum a couple of weeks ago, and am working through the hards.

Some of these I haven't played much since I originally zero-faulted them, and its surprising how much easier they seem. I'm only a handful of tracks into the hards, so I know there are plenty more to go.

Right now I'm 0.7 seconds off of the platinum on Unfair Bombardment. Gah, I hate that stupid little rocking barrel!!!

A couple weeks ago, I felt like this was happening to me. I've been reluctant to try cleaning up the last three ( Inferno II, Greatest Hits and Diabolic), but I'm sure I'll get back to them sometime soon.

I know how you feel! This one has taken me so long! It took the piss when I found out you could speed across the line of barrels!
Just didn't make the distance from the last ramp, to do the back wheel hop over the last tnt box. Apart from that it was a sweet run.

Thanks man, I found I was pretty close to your times whist chasing Plat a lot of the time!

Inferno II was so easy once I made it over the pipes without faulting, I knew I had Platinum!

that part stopped me from getting plat for so long. i'd get up there with about 2 or 3 seconds to spare then wouldn't make it over that final tnt box. the time when i did it wasn't that great a time cos i was a bit too careful. but i just wanted the plat!

its painful when you lose out on a perfect run, cos the last obstacle is such a pain in the ***!

started on Greatest Hits, but still need to find 10 seconds somewhere!

I was in a very similar position a couple of weeks ago. got a few pieces of advice.

1. look at the midnight club guide mike has written. it might give you a better technique for somewhere.
2. look at the #1 run, and copy the two slight shortcuts he takes.
- one is near the start, and means you can avoid the first bunny hop to the wooden ramp
- 2nd is not stopping on the platform before the ramp that gets you over the high bar.
3. this will sound stupidly simple, but dont spend any time atall getting yourself in the perfect position (unless its absolutely vital, like the bar at the very end of inferno). just land-stop-go. it'll give you more faults (meaning more restarts), but i took about 20s off of my greatest hits time, and 30s off of my inferno II time doing this.
its a pain to do this technique, so i only use it if i really cant find the time anywhere else, and i already have a 0 fault run, but it works

Thanks for the advice Reaper, It has paid off!
I managed to get a 1:31:*** run after a few atempts at this.
I was doing a similar thing in Diabolic and got the plat in that too!
Now I just got the last 8 Tourneys to go and about 6 skill games until I complete 99% of my goals.
My biggest achievement would be to beat RedRider on any race, or place top of any leaderboard, but I'm a long way off that!

i'm beating him in *roll the drums* Burning Eye

but i think it's just because he hasn't tried very hard. still, it's a proud moment for me that i'll tell my grandkids about.
