Fairly New - Addicted Already (31) looking for a Trials pal.

    Hi all,

I suppose my story will be familiar with many, having been recommended to play Trials HD, I brought it and had a bash. Its hard to believe such a simplistic game can have so much depth and be so challenging, already its sent me half crazy trying to finish some of the tracks.

Well what can I say, its a truly awesome game! Most of my friends on XBL play COD and other games, being a bit older (im 31 this week) I wouldnt mind some new friends I can compare notes with on this game (if you are of similar age even better).

Im "ok" at trials but im improving all the time, I still find the extreme tracks very difficult and have only completed a few. Im still muddling around with the hard tracks trying to get gold medals, ive only got 3 platinum at the moment, so as you can probably guess I aint nothing special.

Ive not yet had a go with anyones created tracks so if someone wants to "mentor" me and share some tracks by all means add me,

My XBL tag is - CaSiMuS

As a fellow 30 year old, let me say Welcome to the Forums! It's always great to see new people digging Trials HD as much as we all do.. I don't think any of us ever expected to get this much fun and value out of a $15 Live Arcade game, but here we are still playing it months after we first got sucked in. If you're interested in the custom track scene, check out http://www.TrialsHD.net. You'll find details on hundreds of great custom tracks including the gamertags of the people who created those tracks. Everyone who's posting their tracks on that site will be happy to accept your friend request so that you can download their tracks. The site also provides leaderboards for the custom tracks so that you can see how you match up against other Trials riders. If you download and play someone's track, make sure you go back to TrialsHD.net and log your best time on the leaderboards for the track.

I've got a handful of good tracks that I'm rather proud of (see the links in my signature) - feel free to hit me up with a friend request if you want to give any of them a try.

It's very common for people to get hooked lol!
Don't try and complete the extreme tracks yet, wait until you can pass most hard tracks with 2 or less faults and you'll find the extreme ones slightly more reasonable.
I know what it's like when you haven't had much exp and how you think 'I'll never be that good', when you see some of the top players ride. But don't worry, we all started that way!
I'll send you a F/R, so you can have a go at some of my tracks(they aren't the best).

Also, I found Trials 2 SE on the pc is a really good way to learn the techniques req'd for Trials HD.
If you can pull off certain styles of jumps in the pc game, they become so easy on the xbox!

But the best way I found to improve, is learn how to make stuff in editor mode and keep making it harder for yourself when you can get over an object with ease.

Hope some of this helps and you enjoy the game for a long time to come!

Cheers guys, got your FR Jon, Added you raistlin. Seems I have much catching up to do!!!

Just got another few platinum medals for some of the easier tracks, but im still amazed that people can knock seconds of what I can do. What seemed like an easy track before becomes very difficult when trying to do things quickly.

Anyway good to get some new buddies, ill be bugging you all for tips no doubt in the coming weeks!

How do you put all that fancy stuff in your posts ie the medals and stuff? It will show how bad I am but still looks cool.

thats the golden part of this game, stuff might seem insanely hard, but if you leave it, and come back later, things feel much easyer. an "endless" stream of new challenges. first we have to pass all teh tracks, then get better medals, silver and gold, then maybe try them all without foults, and finally get the platinums.
the easy first tracks was so fun to go back to and try to max out, same with the other harder stuff, im sure ill be busy with this for a long time still

Re: Fairly New - Addicted Already (31) looking for a Trials pal.

I agree with that, although you and the others are miles ahead of me, ive been watching everyones videos (rather than watching Lestrophie's and wondering if what he just did is actually possible??)

Im getting there, finally got a gold medal on Technique, which was awesome as that track has been my nemisis!! Well that final jump before the steep tyres anyway.

Ive got some bronze on the extreme tracks but there are certain parts on Inferno II etc that I just cant do. Im gonna take some advice and stick to improving on the hard tracks before moving on.

Might just have a bash at some custom tracks now!
