24 inch Dell flat-finish monitor, HDMI hookup, with good response times etc. I really like it as it's aspect is really wide. HD is a must these days; just try Forza3 on a none-HD to see what I mean.

    46" Hitachi 1080i (not p)
Decent high res graphics, just not full HD.
Ranked around 220 with DLC, 380 without...

HD to SD makes a big difference, but it all about what you are used to. If I go elsewhere I am crap but you would be worse if you switched, at least initially.

stupid question i know but technology and me do not work together, do you need a hdmi cable(and if so how much are they) for the full hd experience or does just flicking the switch on the xbox scart to hd do the business??

p.s i live a sheltered life so this is a genuine question.

You guys all have such big....TV's I play on a 15'inch TV in the hallway next to the door whilst sitting on a rock-hard wooden stool (This is also giving me a hunch back lmao) purely because I can't be arsed/can't afford to get wireless thing for my xbox and so the ethernet will only reach about 1 metre away from the router. Its not HD either but I'm still ranked 130ish in the world so it can't make that much difference It's really annoying when my family push past me whilst I'm playing Trials cause they need to get up the stairs or something

Sounds like you need a longer ethernet cord at least... I know your pain about having people interupt you. I have a 1 year old son who has already figured out that the yellow button will get a reaction out of me (bailout!!!) makes it hard to put in a good run sometimes.

lol I tried linking a ethernet cable upto my room but for some reason it didn't work t was like a really really really long cable though) So I'm stuck in the hallway now See me and my brother both have an xbox each, and we share a room too, so he purchased a wireless thing for his xbox, so now hes taken the 32'inch TV and gets a lovely comfy sofa to relax on whilst I sit in the hall killing my back

Hey boris, if you are talking about the hd switch at the base of the cord at the back of the xbox, then you are getting full hd resolution (provided your TV is hd as well). I believe there is a setting in the xbox menu that needs to be set to high resolution as well, I cant remember.

Some say the picture is more crisp with hdmi. I dont notice the difference with my TV, but it is pretty low end for a 1080p.

An HDMI cable is pretty cheap if you know where to look (mainly online). Check newegg.com and mwave.com. Amazon.com may also have good deals.

Edit... someone correct me if I am wrong, I am not the most knowledgable on this, but I think I am right.
