Yep it's a horrible feeling for sure! I haven't had any losses with THD, but I usually have 2 or 3 working saves that I write to after each session in the editor - this habit comes from doing music production for so many years and always needing save backups. Never trust the machines!

I know its addictive but there is a line drawn somewhere on this sort of thing, imagine leaving a toaster on for 7 hours, generally these next gen consoles are pretty good these days but i wouldnt be surpised if mine crashed after that time.
haha, i leave my xbox on from 7-8am to 11-12 pm sometimes a couple days not sure if its good for it but oh well

Lol, I normally don't like to leave it on for more than 6 hours at a time, even if no discs are spinning and I have an Elite; I'm just a worrysome type of person who can't afford to buy more Xboxes if mine breaks down (well I could but I'd prefer to keep my money)

I haven't had any freezing or saving issues while playing. I'm guessing that has to do with my overprotectiveness with my Xbox

So anywho.....I was pretty much done with the driving line (just needed to add to the operating rooms/decoration) and was saving, as I hit save the game console froze. I was pissed and thought I'd have to only recreate a little bit at the end. I was wrong. I couldn't access the file AT ALL! So morale of the story is make a backup of the track you are working on in case you lose 20+hours of work or something was about ~6+ hours into the track) I also save after each obstacle to prevent this from happening, but this is the first time it happened WHILE I was saving.

I decided against taking a break. I was just upset having put a lot of time into my tracks all the time and then having to start from scratch is very discouraging.

TL;DR = MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR TRACK!!

I had a similar event happen to me, and I too lost a TON of work. Ever since then, I not only save more often, but I save to 2 different files.
