How long does it take to get you "started/warmed up"?
What I mean is if you are like me (play roughly 2-3 times a week but in long sessions) how long before you are at your top?
I for instance usually dont play so much during weekdays (almost nothing) and then comes thursday or friday and I have a few beers and play for maybe 4-6 hours (some weekends 10 hours) and usually it takes some time (maybe 30-60mins) before I play as good as I should play (warm up time or whatever you call it).
If I just start the game and play 1 track I am not very consistent and do alot of mistakes.
Maybe the most of you play the game everyday and then the issue might be nonexistant but does anyone recognise what I am talking about?

One of my friends plays once or twice a week, and he mentions that it takes some time to get in to the swing of things. I play Trials almost every day, so I don't ever feel that way for this game, but I do feel that way when I start to play Forza 3, which I only play that a couple times a week.

sometimes i turn the 360 on and beat one of my times first run. other times i'll play for 2 hours and achieve next to nothing.
so for me i just think it depends on how my brain is that day or something.
i was off work ill yesterday so had a good 4/5 hours on Trials, and moved up about 5 places in the global ranking. 1 place per hour lol!

^^ I agree with Ben1Bob.
I got the original Marathon achievment as soon as i woke up, the first ever thing i done on Trials that day.
But days before i would play it for hours back to back and 'achieve nothing'

yeah its almost random, depends on how focused i am before i can get in the groove

Takes me 10-15 minutes *per track* to get to my top form... that's partly the reason I suck at tournaments.. I have to play a track for that time before I can pull off a good run.

Got me thinking about another annoyting thng about tournaments.
You race the tracks to get zero faults which mean sometimes especially the last tracks(atleast for me) that you drive more slowly/causally and therefore usually you have to take another path or approach to obstacles causing you to **** up because you normally dont play the tracks that (the sissy) way.
I fault on some very weird (read very easy passages) places in tournaments sometimes just because I take it too easy, so now I think I will just go full ahead on every track but without pushing 110% or using the hardest shortcuts.
But interesting to read the answers anyway.
But ofcourse sometimes I can get a better run at the first try but usually its on a course I havent played in a month or so so ts quite obvious I should improve my time on those courses.
But if I play the same track for 2 hours monday I usually need atleast 30 minutes on that same track to get a similar time.

This mental state of affairs is also known as 'sods law'

Or more commonly known (almost) as Murphys Law.

When you start getting carefull, you lose rhythm, and rhythm is the key to stay in the zone...
