I posted here a while back at how useless I am at creating tracks.
I decided to try again, and have a few questions.
I thought it'd be neat to have a big metal ball (from the Outside the Ball skill game) that the rider must roll across a plank covered in flames.
Easy enough. Place planks, create fire, place metal ball.
Test track - land on ball, start rolling, but no fire? Okay, where's my fire? Back to the editor. Oh, there it is.... about thirty feet off the driving line... so far off that I didn't even see it in my test run.
So this raises a couple questions.
a) in the object properties of the flames, I saw a checkbox that said snap to driving line, or something along those lines, which I checked - but my fire is still nowhere near the line.
b) on the main editor menu, I think the left bumper (whatever you call that button above the trigger) says 'snap', which I thought meant snap to driving line, but pushing it doesn't move my flames.
How do I get an object to move to the driving line? If I can figure this out, I might actually be able to get started on track creation.
One more thing - physics on/off - what does this do? It doesn't seem to do anything for me.
Thanks in advance.
Fire doesn't move.....just place and it will be there. Did you start checking and unchecking options?
For the fire to move it has to be glued to some object. Hope this helps.
Click in the right thumb stick while the object is selected and it will move straight to the driving line.

And Physics is physics, if you put physics [on] your ball then it will move freely, if you turn physics off, it will stay in the same place like stone, so if you enable physics on something, it means your rider can interact with it, push it, move it etc, but if physics is off, you cant move that object, it's like a brick wall.
Hope that answers your question
That's awesome. That'll make my life easier. Thanks.Originally Posted by HardkoreMan
It seems so obvious now. Thanks for the help guys.Originally Posted by Elements1992
I made a tutorial showing how to do pretty much EVERYTHING in the editor (pre-DLC will make a new one soon) Its about ~30 if you have the time to watch it.
Trials HD Editor Tutorial
Definitely some cool stuff in your tutorial videos that I didn't know about. I'll give them a closer look the next time I'm editing.
Thanks!!
