Cheating: To violate rules deliberately, as in a game. The second delivery has a set rule to it. "Haul the bombs as far as you can in one minute." I did drop the bombs but that's because I couldn't get plat. distance on it and I saw multiple people do it on the leaderboards so it helped me there. It defeats the purpose of the skill game but can be helpful for the lesser skilled, the average rider, and the amazing. And on Underground it's not really cheating. It just comes down to "Can I do it/do I want to spend the time trying to/it's a glitch so I'm not going too." I can't do it but if I could I would. For those of you (if any) aren't sure what a glitch is:
"A minor malfunction, mishap, or technical problem."
Edit: I dropped the bombs and got a distance of 781.23 feet (238.20m) and went from rank 200 to 1000+

Well i was number 6 in the world before people started dumping the bombs, so seeing myself go from 6th to 866th isnt very fun.... at least im still in the top 1000 without dumping them, i guess, but what is the point in even having a leaderboard if people are going to cheat?

It's a technique not a glitch or cheat. Getting passed on the leaderboard is the nature of the beast. People develop new techniques and then people copy those new ones and get higher than ppl who do things the old way.

It ruins it for anyone who plays it legitimately. Im not too fussed about "the 2nd package" but im number 3 for both rings of fire and if someone got ahead of me by cheating id be pretty annoyed!

I don't see how someone could cheat in rings of fire other than an actual manipulation of code which would then set off the alarms in the Redlynx bunker and that person would be hunted down and fed to the smoke monster...or have his score taken off the leaderboards or w/e.

In Trials HD the only rule or law is physics. And in the case of Delivery II there happens to be a spot where one can get rid of the bombs gently enough that they don't explode and you can go on your merry way.


You can argue semantics about whether the object is to deliver the bombs or not but i get credit for how far i go without getting blown up....and it's not like there's a guy there waiting for me to give him something to sign...

For anyone who thinks its ok: how'd you feel if you had no1 for something and then hundreds of people all start beating you without any of the skill required to pull it off? If you actually put yourself in those shoes, youd be annoyed, wether you admit it or not.

First it does take skill and practice to drop the bombs, second everything in Trials HD takes skill, so the hypothetical situation you raise isn't a fair one. I'm sorry a new technique was developed in Delivery but thats the way it goes. It's actually one of the neat things about Trials, there is almost always a way to do it faster or better.

But I must say that the Underground glitch sucks. It totally ruins the track and it's not fun trying to do the glitch. I only did it after Lestropie had done it because I didn't want to fall too far behind in the rankings.

I agree it's not fun to try and do the underground technique, but the track is still there for conventional riding...it didn't ruin the fun to be had on the track. And that bit about "i only did it after" would seem to back up the point elements was making about when you're in the top of the leaderboards and every point counts you have to keep up with the latest techniques or fall behind.

Well all i have to say to that is im glad you can justify that but not every one sees it the same way, wich is the reason this post was started in the first place.

i just want to make it clear that while i would never do any of theses tricks or glitches, i have no problems with people doing them themselves.

the nature of GL is that if someone uses a trick to get ahead, everybody else chasing points and positions simply HAS TO do exactly the same. so i fully understand people doing this. if ranking is what you're after then you really have little choice.

i just think it'd be nice if RedLynx fixed it so the skill games had to be played the way they were originally intended.

as for Underground. whether RedLynx intended for the massive shortcut to be in there or not, i just think the track is ruined now. i prefer my own replay to the shortcut ones! it's way more fun to watch...

I thought Elements was talking about the delivery cheat. The Underground glitch is something you just have to do if you wanna be on top of the global rankings, because it's worth ~50000 points and getting those points from elsewhere is almost impossible. Although dumping the bombs on delivery may give you just as many points, it isn't needed to be on top of the global rankings at this point. The competition on global+dlc isn't that fierce yet.
