...if I want a top 1000 score?
I just spent about 15 minutes looking through replays, and the first person I chose who didn't dump the bombs was ranked 1000. I'm not saying that everyone ahead of that person dumped them, but the majority did.
I think that dumping the bombs defeats the whole purpose of the game..
Any thoughts?
yes i think dumping the bombs totally defeats the purpose of it.
it's a shame it can't be fixed so that if the bombs drop out then they explode, no matter what. if the entire point of the game is delivery of the bombs, then surely you shouldn't be scored when you actually lose the bombs!
it's be like the postman turning up an hour early without your mail. "yeah, i got here early cos i dumped your letters on the way and so could run here due to the lack of weight in my sack.", "but you haven't got my letters you turd!".
i can't see this being fixed with a patch though to be honest, they'd have to change physics and stuff i assume. it's a shame, cos i really enjoy the delivery games but i won't 'cheat'.
yeah no-one should do it.... but you can't stop people.
I did the underground cheat just to see if it could be done (the day 420 did it i think) and now i regret it as my score looks good but then i realise that i got it by cheating. no more for me!
I went through Hell trying to drop them bombs to stay up the leaderbaord and didnt enjoy it at all, i'd rather this got fixed and all the scores got reset
I'm just an evil person![]()
Some sort of work-around needs to be created, though, as this trick is pretty cheap. Making the bombs explode on impact with any surface besides the cart would probably do it, along with a Delivery II leaderboard reset/scores using the dropping trick wiped![]()
Yea i faced a much more difficult ethical dilemma when deciding whether to drop the bombs or not on Delivery II as opposed to the one on Underground.
It finally boiled down to two things, one is i needed the points to get ahead in the leaderboard, which isn't an concern of some, and the other was that i don't find delivery that much fun the conventional way. I ended up working on it for 2 hours before i was satisfied with a score, and it wasn't easy. After an hour i was able to drop the bombs one out of 6 tries but still getting far without the trailer messing things up wasn't easy as the replays make it look.
As far as a fix, neither this or underground make use of a glitch like the one used in the original bone breaking game so i don't see a problem. As far as i'm concerned it's simply a case of an advanced technique used to get a better score.
I can see your point Ender, but I can agree with the others too.
You do need some skill to pull off these glitches and still do well, but then again, where's the fun in it?
I got pretty good scores on both the bone breaking events, without glitching and got gold or plat in both delivery events too.
Also when I look back at my replays, I can see where I need to improve and can try it again without having to fluke a glitch.
The underground one however looks like it was sort of intended, as there is a path to the finish and its not very likely an amature THD player is going to find it and fluke it on thier first day of play. You have to work hard for that one.
Yes, but when your really high in the leaderboard (such me & Ender) you really have no choice but to glitch it...as Ender said
(Sorry Jono i don't know where your placed in the GL)
somewhere in the top 8-900 or between 4-500 +DLCOriginally Posted by Elements1992
I supose you're right. Some of the skill games are the only tracks my rank is above 5000, so I can see how it could boost my ranking a bit.
Don't think I'll be joining the top 100 any time soon, as some people have way more free time than me!![]()
Plus skill games seem to give alot more points than normal a normal racing track improving a few seconds
But you'll get thier soon enough, trust me
