Letter to Skyway
Dear Skyway,
Die.
Yours truly,
Berica
I'm 9 hours in and still no platinum. Seriously, wtf. Half of me is enjoying the challenge - half of me wants it to be over. KotH took me maybe 5 hours, and that's been the hardest track for me to plat so far *. Look at KotH. Look at Skyway. Skyway is waaay easier, and yet... I'm not there. My time is somewhere around 39.4 right now (38 is platinum).
One of three things happens to me at that final jump.
a) fault, curse, start over
b) get to it at around 32-33 seconds, giving me plenty of time for the platinum, but do it really slowly and finish with a time of 40-41 secs
c) fly over it like I actually know what I'm doing, but I'm only trying it to get experience - my time is something stupid like 50 seconds before even trying the jump
I'm not here looking for advice or anything. Just need to vent. Feel free to post your track horror stories on this thread.
(* no plats on Extreme levels - just 0 faults. That's a challenge I'm not looking forward to.)

Re: Letter to Skyway
Played the second to last tourney for a good hour last night and made it to Isabelle in 3 minutes multiple times, and couldn’t bring it home. I know Isabelle well, but I just don’t play safe enough. Pretty damn frustrating.

Re: Letter to Skyway
Same with me Crystal, havn't played that tourny in a while, but i pass Prison Break with 0 faults but still get too risky and end up faulting on the last 2 levels.
But i can't do Skyway consitantly at all!
I nearly always fault on it when im on the tourny =/
Eithe rthe very first bit, or very last bit..

Re: Letter to Skyway
Yeah man, the wheelie is too inconsistent for me (beginning of Skyway), so I just jump straight into the dip instead of the upper platform. You lose 2 seconds max. And it sucks when you’ve nailed the first 4 maps and choke on the final stretch... but that’s the nature of tourneys, yeah?

Re: Letter to Skyway
I find smoke n mirrors more troublesome to 0 fault in tournies.

I hear you on Skyway. I don't think I can count how many runs it took me to get a platinum. I think Isabelle might be trickier for me.. that last section gets me everytime.

Re: Letter to Skyway
I fell on the last jump on isabelle 3 times in that tournament before i finally got it, i can consistantly get under platnium times on wheels, skyway and prison break doing that tourney but it takes me nearly a minute to do smoke and mirrors and nearly 50 secs to do isabelle because of the nerves. I actually havent played the tourney since i platniumed it, its devastatingly frustrating!

I have gotten 1 fault 3 times now on that tournament. Each time was on isabelle. I have taken a break from it and am playing custom tracks.

Re: Letter to Skyway
i've taken a break too and been just playing customs. skyway is super super frustrated to get a plat on. that final jump is soooo simple when you make it. so much so i'll never really practise it. but then when the pressure's on my back wheel gets caught

Re: Letter to Skyway
I love this track at the moment but feel your pain way more than you know. I was going for a few plats last nught and was riding skyway.. I did a run and thought "I can't do that any better"... my time was 38.022s.
I have never hated 0.22 of a second so much. Funny thing was that I looked over the run and found a couple of seconds i could easily get... going to try again but sometimes is good to have a break.
