Hi everybody,
I m pretty sure someone here will be able to help me !
I tried to make a bridge with floating wood logs, i made all the bridge, everything work but one things failed.
Here what i ve done:
-trigger,on the drive line, sets on physic glued to the wood log
-wood log lock to drive line, 7 / 8 ft far from the drive line
- second trigger, on the drive line with physic unchecked, close to the first one.
so I ride the bike, hit the first trigger, the log come to the drive line hit the second trigger but the log still on physic so it falls down, you cant ride on it. Is it a glitch ?
I used one physic trigger per log and one with physic unchecked
Does the log hit two triggers?? I'm not sure but it involves animation and physics. When I get home I can help.
I think One is animation check, the other nothing. Not 100% Put very close together.
It would be easier if I could post a video but i dont know how to record myself playing the track....
I was at the job when i posted this, now i ll explain what i did better,
- 1 trigger, physic check, on the drive line glued to a wood log
- the wood log is around 5 to 7 feet deep from the drive live.
-**there is a second trigger close to the first one, physic uncheck, on the drive line too, glued to the same wood log.
- when i ride the bike, I hit the first trigger, it activate physic on the wood log.
- the wood log snap on the drive line and hit the second trigger, the way I see this, when the log hit the second trigger, it should deactivate physic on the log so the log stay in place, no more physic, so you can roll on it. Then you duplicate.
I saw lot of custom track with that kind of bridge.
wait for your help.
I'm uploading a video, hopefully it will help you. If not I can try to recreate the moving bridge.
How to stop moving object
It doesnt help me but it gives me good ideas... the mecanism is great....how do you upload video like this, do you film yourself with a cam ? If i could post a short video too it could help you to understand what i mean
if i can describe in another way, imagine fwood log "floating" in the air and they all come together to make a bridge, I would you do that,
Thank you by the way, to take the time.
I guess you want me to show you how....Its the same principle.Originally Posted by EatMeet
read the description on the video too.
trigger physics for the wood to fall.
Have the two triggers close to each other underneath the wood
First animation checked, second physics checked
That should be it.
I found that in another Topic. I tried and it does exactly what I want. It may help you too.
Thank you for trying.
1: create the desired "sliding" object and "lock to driving line"
2: create trigger, set properties to "physics" and "animation"(this will make it move), connect to "sliding" oject, and place where desired to get the object moving.
3: create second trigger, set properties to "animation"(this will stop it moving) select "sliding" object, and place trigger were desired to stop the "sliding" object.
You cannot trigger an object's physics with itself.
IE, The log you are trying to stop, cannot stop itself.
Instead, change the trigger with physics unchecked, to trigger physics on a different object, then really close to that object trigger the first object's physics off.
If I understand correctly, you are trying to use the log to turn it's own physics off and this is not possible.
I go into more detail on how I created a similar bridge near the end of this topic:

thats exaclty it, I was looking for the log to turn his own physic off but i did what I posted in previous msg and it works, the bike has to turn the power on and off or any other object but the physic object itself.
Thank you my firend, you didnt really help me on this one but your vid gives me good ideas and answered other questions I had.![]()
