what did u last miss eating because trials has took over your life and eating habits... or any funny story you have because of your addiction for trials
I stayed up for 4 days straight without food or drink and I eventually diedOriginally Posted by raistlin2076It's ashame really, I liked life!
In all seriousness though, I have never done something stupid like forget to sleep with any game, even Trials. A few days ago I stayed up another half an hour just to get below 4 faults in Brown Boxes, that's quite pathetic though!
I don't eat dinner almost every night until about midnight. This is a direct result of playing Trials.
I haven't missed eating yet, but the one time things got out of control is when I sat down on a Friday evening with the goal of getting a platinum on Prison Break.
I anticipated this taking a long time, but within around 30 minutes, I easily had my platinum by 2.5 seconds.
Riding the wave of success, I decided to move on to Skyway, one of the only other Hard tracks that I didn't yet achieve a platinum. It was only 11pm, so I figured I'd have the platinum no later than midnight.
Fast forward to 5am, and no platinum.Yup, I played one track for 6 hours non stop and didn't even get the platinum on it (side note: when I actually do manage to get a good run on this track, which is roughly 1 in 10 tries, I bugger up the final jump).
My second story related to my Trials addiction has to do with other games. For Xmas, I got MW2, DiRT 2 and L4D2. My game playing since then has been (roughly)
MW2: 2 hrs
DiRT: Haven't opened yet
L4D2: 4 hrs (only because I had a friend over on New Year's Eve - haven't touched it since then)
Trials: don't know exactly - 30 hours? 40?
If I had 10 hours a day to play, sure, I wouldn't just play Trials... but with a job/family/child, I get an hour here and there, so I dedicate it entirely to Trials.
dude i can't even play SkyWay for half hour at a time, let alone 6 hours. track drives me nuts cos it's so physics based. and then the afterburner gives you a crash for just picking it up sometimes. harrumph.Originally Posted by Berica
i too have made it to the end in superfast time and been caught out by the final jump as well. i only seem to miss the final jump when i'm having a great run![]()
I find myself skipping many meals (or at least putting them off until a later time) due to games. It usually happens when I am achievement whoring or just being determined to get a better time in Trials (mostly because of achievements though). Oddly enough, Forza 3 has been helping my schedule. I have been getting up early, starting races, hiring drivers, and doing it all day. And while the races are going I am actually being very productive. I completely organized my desktop and laptop. Cleaned out my room and threw away 5 garbage bags full of stuff I dont need. And been working on some new custom PCs.
That's how I have to play this game. I focus on one (maybe two) tracks at a time (okay, usually not for 6 hours at a time). I find that if I don't do this, I forget a lot of the little things that are required for a platinum run.Originally Posted by ben1bob
Yup, that's how it happens. 1 out of 10 of my runs on this track are good, and I can nail that jump flawlessly probably 1 out of 20 times. So now it's a matter of combining the 1/10 and 1/20 into one run.Originally Posted by ben1bob![]()
I always forget to eat/drink & sleep thanks to Trials =[
Ive also BANNED myself from xbox in the morning, because Trials has made me late for college numerous amounts of time =)
