So, I have pretty much avoided spending a lot of time on this level until recently. Mostly because I don't like pain.
As I near the finish on a zero fault run, I start to lose feelings in my hands. At first I thought this was some Jedi expert rider thing and I was becoming one with the console. I now realize it's just nerves and I'm losing control of my hands.
I have messed up the final jump/obstacle so many times that I think the game engine actually feels sorry for me. I'm not really sure of this because I may have partially lost consciousness, but I think RedLynx activated Lestropie's robot to do the final jump for me.
In any case, there I was on the final platform with only a couple of hammers to avoid. By this time I had regained some control of my hands and did manage to avoid the hammers, but it was not pretty.
Final time 1:07 - for the Platinum.
So I ask you Inferno 2, who's your daddy? Apparently I am; roughly once out of about 10,000 attempts.
RedLynx - thanks for making a great game that will beat you down mercilessly; but every once in a while will hand you that little victory.
Don't wana know how much attempts it took me!
And i'm still not happy with my time..AT ALL!![]()
Had a quick go earlier and managed it in 3.(2 on the rolling tyres and once on the pipes) but stunned myself on how easily I passed the rest of it!
I managed to Plat Brown Boxes today and going up with only 1 fault!
Groundhog forever is my pet hate atm, as I got it with no faults, but about 10 sec out!
Tis a good feeling tho when u finally manage to robot the whole course!
Yeah, if you get the correct combination of direction & button inputs, that'll happen; it's gotta be quick though. You were probably mashing everything as you went over the barrels because you were so nervous, and got the combination right by accident.Originally Posted by CheckValve
Getting Platinum on Inferno II is hardly a 'little victory'. Well done.Originally Posted by CheckValve![]()
Thanks. My wife and kids were asleep as it was late. If they could have seen me jumping up and down, well, they would have been sooo proud.Originally Posted by Lestropie
Actually, my 15 year old does think it's pretty cool. He schools me in Modern Warfare but appreciates the fact that the old man can take him in Trials.
getting Plat on Inferno II takes way more skill than anything in Modern Warfare, tell him that!Originally Posted by CheckValve
Platinuming Inferno II takes more skill than most things in most games though actually...
congrats![]()
Xbox gamertag is Draggonf1y and the time was #72 on the global at the time. The replay shows a pretty clean run followed with a nice example of how to devolve into a complete dork while avoiding the hammers.Originally Posted by ToaTheBoa
