Re: tips for new creators?
First thing is switch the editor to Advanced mode. Simple is just not worth the hassle. The sooner you get used to the advanced controls the quicker you will get at placing objects.
Here is a few controller shortcuts that will help.
Click the right thumbstick to snap and object to the driving line. Click it again to reset it to default position.
Click the left thumbstick to switch the camera movement. The arrows on the left show what mode you are in. Left/right arrow keeps you facing the right way, curved arrows allow the camera to rotate. If you want to reset the camera make sure you are on the left/right arrow view and hit RB.
Hold LB to select multiple objects.
Tap LB to rotate an object through 90 degree angles.
Tap RB to switch the rotation axis.
When testing the track use LB/RB to jump forward and back between checkpoints.
When building a track think of your first obstacle. I suggest starting with a beginner/medium difficulty so use the ramps as a starting object. Place it down, hit start and test track. Now speed towards the ramp and make a mental note of where you land. Them place a down ramp near there, run at the jump again and if it needs tweaking then go back and move it a little.
This goes for any obstacle. Once you build one, add a checkpoint, then start on your next. you need to make sure that you can reach the obstacle from the previous one AND from the current checkpoint, even if it means adding a little something inbetween.
Thats pretty much it to start off with. Just get used to the editor, testing and tweaking, testing some more and then testing it again 100 times.
If you have any specific questions then ask away and I'll do my best.
PS. forgive me if this is just going over old ground with your knowledge, but you said help with everything so I thought I'd start with the very basics

You can check out My Tutorial Shows how to do everything you could need to know in the editor ~30 mins. Hope it helps!

Tip: You need advanced mode on to be able to delete wall blocks.
For your first map try to make a medium level using only the small & large wood ramps and wooden ramp plate.
Just make the basic outline of the course first with no backgrounds or decoration. Aim for 1 minute of driving time.
Do lots of testing to check it is fun to drive. e.g. build the first section then test and adjust. then build the next section, test it and change it. Sometimes go back to the start and test from the beginning
When you have a good track then add the backgrounds and details like scaffolds etc.
