Hi all.
I'm trying to get lighting effects like in Isabelle. Inside the rings made of ducts, are lights that change from red to green, and continue to cycle.
I thought that there were two lights, and that one is switching on when the other switches off, but I can't figure out how to turn off lights. I also can't figure out how to make them cycle like that, unless something is blocking the one colour of light.
Does anyone have any idea how this was done?
Thanks!
set up 2 lights 1 red 1 green, whichever light u want to start with leave the light box ticked, turn off light on other. attach a plank of wood to a slow force rotation and place triggers around it. to turn the light off dont tick any boxes on trigger, to turn lights on tick the light box on trigger. trigger 1 should turn off light 1, very close to this is trigger 2 which turns on light 2, trigger 3 should turn light 1 back on and very close to this is trigger 4 which should turn light 2 off etc hope this makes sense....![]()
Yes, that makes perfect sense... hopefully I understood correctly. I'll try this out in a bit!
EDIT: This works perfectly! I bumped it to a fast rotation to get the effect I needed, but there was nothing to it!
Thank you!
One more question to the knowledgeable folks out there...
Is there any way to prevent pointlights from putting light THROUGH objects? (aside from turning them off)
Thanks!
Would pointlight Small range work maybe?Originally Posted by lespritdelescalier

Some of the lights cast shadows of objects, but others don't. I think everything except the point lights and wall light cast shadows.
yea only pointlights and wall lamps are your budget lighting method=D, but they do produce nice results as background deco to give areas depth and lighting on the driving line. Careful how many of these lights you place together though as you might get some artifacting if they are too close to one another.
I'm still confused on doing this... could someone maybe make a Tutorial video on this...? I just can't figure it out...![]()
EuphoricFusion has a great tutorial about different uses of the dummy tool, and it includes how to make lights turn on and off. That should get you on the right track...Originally Posted by Krazycookies
