How do I make my own video of a track to post on youtube etc?
I want to make a good quality vid, not a recording off my phone.
Do I need special cables to link my laptop to my xbox?

you need to buy a capture card on you case laptop usb capture card

Not sure I'll be up for that, was only interested if you could do it with exsisting software.

Check out Pinnacle Studio Dazzle. Its cheap and really easy to use. It comes with software and external capture card that uses USB. All you need would be a video distribution block and RCA cables that way you can play on a tv and record at the same time. There are lots of videos on youtube that show you how to use it and other capturing devices aswell. Let me know if you decide to go that way and have question. send me an FR.
