    Another checkpoint question

    Why is it that I have to place my checkpoints below the platform if I want them to trigger when the rider rides past them? This only really happens when there is another level above the platform. The checkpoint often moves to the higher level instead. I can post pics if necessary.

    Re: Another checkpoint question

    If you want the checkpoints visible this can be a problem, i avoid this by nearly always having checkpoints hidden either under or far away from d/l. im sure if you move the higher level track to one side then place checkpoint then replace higher level track this should work too

    no idea but its annoying as hell, run into this more than a few times before... sucks when you are building a certain theme with the checkpoints even

    Re: Another checkpoint question

    ive found that theres a point in between that tells it to go up or down. my solving is this: position a ceiling and a floor with the checkpoint in between. little by little move the CP down till it changes to the low point where ya want it. also try extending the cieling beyond the checkpoints range and only some objects will actually stop the checkpoint lines from going further up. youll notice sometimes the lines going thru the object, then that objects no good for a ceiling

    Re: Another checkpoint question

    Hey thanks everyone.. I hadn't checked back for awhile, because I decided to tackle this at the end of my track.

    So far, none of the stuff either suits what I can do with the track, or seems to work. If I move the higher level to the side, and then replace the checkpoint, it only works for the run after, and then goes back to being dumb. It isn't possible to adjust my track, because both levels are possible driving lines.

    Any other ideas? Or do I just have to live with it?

    Thanks!

    Re: Another checkpoint question

    without seeing your track i can only guess at how to get round this problem, but is there any way you could alter the position of the two checkpoints before and after this problem area and just not put that particular checkpoint in?

    Re: Another checkpoint question

    its not exactly a pretty solution, but couldnt you just have a random floating plank as sort of a false ceiling, so the checkpoint would activate where you wanted it to, and on this false ceiling that couldnt be reached.

    little diagram of what i mean:
    _ = track
    C = checkpoint
    * = spacers to keep everything in line because this forum doesnt like more than two or three spaces at once

    top track-->*******__________________________________
    False ceiling-->******************* ____

    bottom track-->*****____________C____________________

    (or have i completely misunderstood the problem)
