I had an issue with medals transferring when recovering a gamer profile. Here's the sequence:
1. Main gamertag (MegaTrain) on XBox Pro stored on HD. Done most of my racing and gained most medals on this box.
2. Bought a new XBox Arcade for the bedroom, recovered my profile, and improved scores on a few tracks, including getting platinum on Concrete Dreams with a time of 0:54.919 (0:56.000 is platinum).
3. Went on vacation for a week
4. Today, recovered my profile back on the original Pro box, started TrialsHD
5. Applied new patch
6. Time shown for Concrete Dreams is correct (0:54.919), but only shows Gold medal, not platinum.
I haven't yet tried to re-beat the time, I suppose I can if necessary, but I need to know if I did something wrong so I don't continue having the issue.
Have you unlocked the platinum medals (by passing one extreme track)? That Gold medal might actually be a platinum, but it is not shown before you have actually unlocked the Platinum club.Originally Posted by MegaTrain
No, that's not it. I've passed all tracks (including all Extremes) with Gold or better. Already got Platinum medal on 39 of 58 tracks (the graphic in my sig is slightly out of date).Originally Posted by Jorma
I realized, now that I think about it, that I did one additional thing: at one point, I actually moved the hard drive from my Pro and attached it to my Arcade, but then signed in to the profile that was stored on the internal Arcade storage. It didn't seem to cause any issues at the time, but maybe moving the HD back and then recovering the gamertag caused it to lose the medal.
Its just weird that it correctly shows the Platinum time I got, but doesn't show the medal.
Oh well, I'll just beat my current score, and re-gain the platinum.
This has happened to me 3 times. It's pretty cool imo, and if the devs could leave it alone that would be nice, it doesn't hinder the gameplay at all, just a little something extra every once in awhile.Originally Posted by LostNr
If you notice it happening, start visiting tracks that make use of the bottom parts of a custom track, as in if you started taking out blocks headed down to the bottom.
So far Inferno, Diabolic, Epic Jumps, Ski Jump, Jolly Jumper(a little), mother of all jumps (a lil near the egg) and others where the name escapes me, all have the trippy graphics.
On diabolic it's after the three tires and once you get over the exploding barrel get down through the pipes, if it's a good one it's quite the sight.
Last time it happened i filmed a little bit of it but it wasn't being as awesome as it was the second time and then i went to do the dlc ski jump and my box froze, i shoulda gone to the dlc outside the ball, that takes place all at the bottom.
again i doubt anybody has a problem with this little hiccup being left in the code.
The achieved medals are saved to the actual profile file and not in the LIVE back end like the leaderboards, so if you delete the profile file and use some recovery function, you might lose some medal information.Originally Posted by MegaTrain
^^with that being said, i've noticed (before the update), that my times/replays aren't the same when i'm not on the network.
sometimes i'll bring my xbox to a friend house and play trials, there's been times i wanted to show off some tracks, but didn't have the replay or medals.
If you are offline, only the scores you have driven during that playtime are shown. This is the same as the 'Session' scores on the leaderboards.Originally Posted by Paralyzer
Like I said before, the medals you have achieved are saved to you profile file, so if you bring your profile to your friend's house, you should see your medals (if you sign in with your profile).
ok i made a thread for freezes in the technology discussion... ahm... sorry...
i had a game freeze a few days ago:
i was online, i have both the dlc and update installed, i don't know how long i played before the freeze.
i was playing a few tracks in the main game, i just finished one and wanted to start another. can't remember exactly when it freezed, i think i just pressed a to choose the track. typical freeze - had to turn off the box because i couldn't do anything else.
This happened before the patch but after the DLC. I was in the editor, loaded tracks and there was someone elses track in my list. I loaded it and was able to manipulate it in the editor. I would never tamper with someone elses work so I let him know what happened. I saw a post on page 2 similar to this but no follow up. It freaked me out to think that someone could mess with my tracks or steal them. Anyone have some insight into this?
