Interesting quote from the creator of that Hall of Records...
There's a nice parallel between that and the golden record sent to space, or even all of these clues together in the game. If you think about the whole Trials Evolution/Darwin relationship, maybe it's not a stretch to consider the entire game of Trials HD is set in some sort of Hall of Records and these clues are all tidbits from our distant past? This is not a time capsule. These documents are to remain buried for thousands of years. Borglum literally had it in mind to send the message of our country to future civilizations. He said, "you might as well drop a letter into the world's postal service without an address or signature, as to send that carved mountain into history without identification."
@ Anba: I would love to see your book top 20 when this is all over, or now if you feal like it![]()
Heh. Just today tought that we need bigger bookself.![]()
I just thought today I need a bigger brain![]()
I'm not sure what to explore at the moment. Ironic Lost is the hot topic as it's exactly how I feel right now.
I feel you're on the right track in thinking the DNA is some type of code Shady. That's been my thought for a while but I've not looked into it, thought it may go over my head a bit.
I read through this whole thread some time ago, but I can't remember if this has been mentioned, but...how are we going to know if/when we come up with the right answer if we don't know what the question is?
Like, say, if I guessed that the answer to the riddle was: Trials HD itself!!
And the question is: What is Redlynx/ANBA's magnum opus?
Hear me out, it's a bit loose, but it's my guess so far. It seems to me that many of the easter eggs are references to things/objects/ideas that are so great that we remember their creators/owners specifically because of those things.
Examples include:
Fibonacci's Number. We otherwise would have no idea who Fibonacci was if it wasn't for his number.
Darwin/Tree of Life. Yeah, I know his masterpiece is actually the book, On the Origin of Species, but short of putting the actual book in the game, it makes sense to reference it by the tree design.
The Divine Proportion. This is easily Pacioli's masterpiece, but I believe this, along with the other Da Vinci references are simply references to Da Vinci himself. My guess is he is remembered as the consummate Renaissance Man, so it would make sense to attribute more than just one thing to him.
...And so on with the Voyager Record (NASA's greatest achievement, potentially?), the Piri Reis Map (Piri who? If it wasn't for the map, nobody would know who), Dream Pool Essay's (Ken Shuo's greatest work), Euler's Number (the number overshadows the man), the cave paintings (early man's crowning achievement), Mt. Rushmore (Gutzon Borglum), etc.
Maybe this is ANBA's way of saying, "Look, see all of these masterpieces that surround you. Well, that's what this game is that you're playing right now, my magnum opus."
As far as the DNA, the Tunguska Event, the boxes (Kubrick and Abrams), the roman numerals, and maybe some other stuff I've forgotten, I don't know. Okay, so maybe it's way more than a bit loose.![]()
Back to my original point, what if my guess happened to be correct? Are we counting on ANBA to read every post in here and chime in when someone hits it? Or is the answer, once known, going to be so obvious that we will all just...know.
If this has already been discussed and hashed out, please disregard this ridiculously long and pointless post, and carry on with doing things that actually help.![]()
I think you are right about now knowing what is right and what is wrong. I seriously have no idea how we are going to get to the lext level. But at this point, we have still not figured out all of the clues yet.
I have a theory of sorts (we all have them).
I think some of the clues are, like you mention, clues that point toward a signifncant advance in human history, great people or significant events.
I then see other clues that are more code like the DNA, the Fibonacci with e, the number 4 with the divine proportion.
If i had to guess, I would say that these clues hold the key to the question, and the series of significant events are the clues to the answer....
I could be wrong, but to me it seems like there are two groups of clues...
I think you are both right. I still think that if the answer is a code (e, DNA, Fibonacci etc) then we need to apply it somewhere (probably to another clue?) and I don't actually believe that we will have a "Eureka!" moment and everything will become clear, I think we'll have to work hard to get this. If you remember when Anba explained it to Sebbbi/Sipecan't remember who), it took him about half an hour to explain it and how it all links together. This is definitely something we need to start trying to do too.
EDIT: terrible grammar this morning!! Aaargh wake up!!!
Well since we're sharing theories![]()
I've always had a feeling that there'll be an encoded web address or something ( Wired riddle style ) that'd need to be cracked using the eggs. That'd do away for the need for an actual Q and A. Decode the web address and be the first person to post...I have no idea.
Absolutely no evidence of it and it's looking increasingly less likely but that was how I envisioned it turning out.
It's Jenkki who Anba told Skag mate...maybe you could invite him out for a meal![]()
Jenkki if you're there?!?! Bread and dripping per chance? hmm..![]()

Someone mentioned Carl Sagan a page or two back, and apologies if it's already been mentioned, but i feel compelled to bring up the Pale Blue Dot
It's a photograph of earth taken from Voyager when it was 4 billion miles away. If you haven't seen this, take 3 or 5 minutes and listen to one of the great minds of the 20th century.
Some of the eggs are directly mentioned in his soliloquy, and in a way all of the eggs are mentioned...
