I read the Wiki, not sure it's relevance or how it fits but it looks positive. At the end of that Wiki there's a bit about a guy who's theorized that Antillia is actually Puerto Rico based on comparing landmarks and geographical features. I'm gonna try and concentrate on the box for now though, like Shifty said earlier...too much info.
Lets hope we get some fresh faces in here once the article is posted. I think we all need some outsiders to give us a break.
I submitted it today for review. Hope to get it finalised within the week? I'll keep you posted.
I will say this. There is at least 2 new clues in the post. One of them I'm pretty sure will help us solve the DNA!
Great! Respect for all the work you (any everyone else) has put into this.Originally Posted by FatShady

Why is that? it would be so cool to see someone new come in with answersOriginally Posted by JoeRegular![]()

Whilst I want to see the answer to this whole riddle desperately it'd put the icing on the cake to see it reasoned through and solved in this thread. I'd feel a little gutted ( just a little ) if I were to log in one day and see a new user just explain it all as if it had been obvious.
I know it's unlikely any of us ( me the least ) are going to crack the thing anytime soon, I'm just thinking of my ideal world scenario.
Just a couple of quick links on the piri reis map. The first is quite informative but I'm not sure if it will help us as it doesn't touch on the side inscription (the part which Anba removed). Did he remove it because it would distract from the more important issues of the map? ...Or did he remove it to draw attention to that section, thus highlighting its importance? The second is just a detailed highish res image which you can zoom in on.

Nice work Skag.
I just got a message from my ( super busy apparantly ) friend at gaminglives.com. He said if you want to send the article in to their submissions address he's already told his Editor Mark to expect it.
Entirely up to you Shady![]()
The strange thing about this easter egg is that the part of the map we can see doesnt exist or was never found. Scientists examined the edges of the piri reis map and claimed that it was part of a larger (world)map. The small cut out piece of the map is the existing part: the piri reis map shown in the above link.Originally Posted by Skag
Piri inscribed that the map was based on about twenty charts. For the western lands Piri used a chart by Columbus.
Im going to look a bit more into this: why was the map cut in first place? And why are we focussing so much on a part of the map that isnt even shown in the easter egg?
I believe it's not known what happened to the map. It was rediscovered in 1929 when its home (can't remember where) was being turned into a museum. It just refers to it as the "surviving part" of the map.
EDIT: Actually I've only just realised that the entire piri reis map was piece that's missing from the easter egg! Bah... I thought it was the inscription that was missing.
How is the piri reis map important? Does it relate to any of the other easter eggs?
Good luck Kobe
