Those are some very cool deductions there Geek![]()
I too wonder what Anba thinks of all this![]()
my thoughts exactly, i wonder, has he forgotten about us?Originally Posted by JoeRegular![]()
Trust me, this has NOT been forgotten.
Hmm, I appreciate the though you've put into this, but I"m not sure those are very strong connections.Originally Posted by wmgeek
For one, none of our artifacts or clues make any reference to the plague or anything about it, so while we certainly have a cluster of things around the Renaissance, I'm not convinced it has anything to do with the black death.
Additionally leaving 42 (movie reference) and 1452 (DaVinci's birthdate) as separate clues seems much stronger than combining them into "421452" with the vague reference to the bird flu.
I'm still going through and compiling all the track descriptions and platinum messages to see if we might find anything useful in there.
I'll be the first to admit not all the connections are strong...
...I put 42 and 1452 together because
a) it has been done with four other clues fibonacci panel + panel with e, and the divine proportion signs
b) the clues are numbers only and displayed in a similar manner and
c) having 1452 as a clue leading to da vinci would mean there are a total of 4 dedicated in part or in full to leonardo, it could be up to 6 if you include the fibonacci panels as there are some theories that da vinci used the golden ration and fibonacci tiled patterns like that in the riddle in is art work... so many clues directed at one individual means all previous theories could be invalidated...with 6 of the 17 clues leading to da vinci it puts the riddle in a very leo-ccentric position...
...I've just thrown an idea out there that connected the dots...however tenously...in the hopes of spurring on the quest.....or in the least generating some discourse on the subject...
...okay so while we are talking of connections that aren't very strong...Originally Posted by MegaTrain
1) Tannens Mystery Box - only linked to JJ Abrams from a magazine article and interview and through JJ was linked to lost...why lost??...why not any of his other work??
2) Kubricks archive box - automatically linked to his most well known film 2001...why not clockwork orange?...doctor strange love??...eyes wide shut??? the shining? full metal jacket...i could go on...
3) 42 - can be linked to the orion nebula, douglas adams, the hitch hikers quide to the galaxy, lewis carrol...it's been decided this clue...and only this clue leads to the question for the riddle...being what is the meaning of life...and after this was decided...pretty much all discussion stopped...I'll also point out that even in the books 42 wasnt the answer to the question of life the universe and everything...42 was the ultimate answer...but deep thought said a better question was needed...which is why the mice commisioned magrathea to build earth
4) voyager golden record display of hyrdrogen - okay so this clue leads to the voyager golden record...and thats it?...is there something on the record that might be more pertinent??
5) orion - okay its the constellation orion....is that all??
...i'll stop there...I'm not trying to attack any one... everyone here has put a lot of hard work and thought into solving this.... I read, i investigate, i learn...and if i have an idea ill post it... I appreciate any constructive criticism, because it makes me look at my ideas or theories harder...
...I do think some of the assumptions we have made need to be closely re-examined...and i do think a lot more work is needed overall before this will get solve
Totally agree with you on this, we've got as far as doing a *basic identification* of (most of) the items, and not much further than that. ANBA has said we have "given up too early" on some of the clues after that initial identification.Originally Posted by wmgeek
Here's a new observation I came up with: can the track descriptions help us connect the clues to each other?
Track: Diabolic
Description: "You thought you had skills? Think again."
Clue: Map with missing piece
Track: Prison Break
Description: "Can you break free without a map?"
Clue: DNA
Does the map clue on Diabolic somehow lead us (via the track description) to the clue on Prison Break?
If so, what track would the DNA clue on Prison Break lead to? Is there a track description that mentions DNA?
On the other side, is there a clue that might lead us to the description on Diabolic? Maybe the [?] box?
You think there might be anything to this?
Orion was the Hunter therefore the cave painting fits with this nicely.Originally Posted by wmgeek
Can't post more as very busy at work, but keep trying out these theories and connecting the clues. Ultimately they should all connect via some way or other to solve the riddle anyway.
Nice to see the conversation still ongoing here. Really encouraging. I've been flat out with a bunch of other stuff recently and have not been able to contribute. Good to see WMGeek and others getting back into the spirit of this thread. I think we just keep throwing any ideas we have and hopefully ANBA will jump back into here and let us know if we are getting close?
Myself and Raposa have been bouncing ideas around in PMs (helpful I know!) and I said to him that I think Anba is keeping quiet intentionally at the moment because I think the riddle is included in Trials Evolution (!!!) hence he wouldn't want to give us clues and it be solved before the release. I also think that JetBeard who added the entry on the wiki site a while back was Anba -or somebody close to him.
Interesting, I know that ANBA is secretive, but you are right, even for him he is oddly quiet. As for JetBeard, I like that theory.. It would be odd for a random dude to just stumble on the wiki, solve something and then just disappear!Originally Posted by Skag
Not sure about the two games thing. I can't remember the interview I did with him now but I don't think he has ever said that we couldn't solve it now..![]()
