Apparently in 1587, after the English tried to settle on an island known as Ranoke Island, John White, the father of the colonist, was going to go back to England to get supplies for the new colony and return in 3 months. However, he found England in a state of war with Spain and his ship along with all others were taken for use in the war. 3 years later, he finally had the chance to return to the island with supplies but he found the island deserted, and his only clue as to what happened was the word "Croatoan" carved into a fencepost. He had instructed the settlers 3 years earlier to carve the name of their location if they ever had to leave the island so he sought out to travel to the Croatoan island. However, the weather was persistently bad and John's only option was to return to England. Nobody knows what happened to the settles; if they had died, if they had been accepted into Croatoan's friendly native tribe, or anything else. They became known as "The Lost Colony".

I'm going to take a guess here and assume that this may explain why there are squirrels scattered throughout the DLC courses. Maybe they had lived in the many trees/wooden poles but had to leave before their shipment of nuts arrived?? Who was delivering the nuts/other stuff in the first place? Is the rider comparable to John White? Is the rider the squirrel king!?

There's a shadow of a silhouette of a squirrel on the second Loose Screw level.. The 'Extreme Torque' one.
After you go at the beginning until the ground explodes behind you, you then go backwards and drop down you'll see it.

    Pics soon.

can someone explain something to me.

wtf is the point in easter eggs? I get that they're little hidden things but i've never seen one in a game that made me think "well im glad i found that!". Like the heart in the statue of happiness in GTAIV. I dont get it

It's like a treasure hunt. While I don't even follow what all the clues and codes mean... I still find it enjoyable to discover new and hidden locations, for mere enjoyment. No need for achievements (although that would be sweet).

To be honest I dont really get achievements either I can see a bit of satisfaction in the message popping up on the screen but I have mates who will play games they're bored of to the point where they're losing the will to live just so they can get the last few achievements and get an extra 40 points added to a gamerscore that means **** all besides bragging rights.

You can hardly see it, but there's a shadow of a squirrel on the wall.

Anyone else find what looks to be like a garbage chute on pipe network? I've got to the bottom of it once, it's pretty tough to get to.. i'll wait on putting up the location until others find it.

I think he means the whole garbage chute type thing in general, it is hidden pretty well so I'd count it as an easter egg

Speaking of which, did anybody else notice that there are two entrances to it? There's the one right at the start (at the second jump, go below the large pipe) and there's the one right after the part where you do the backwards loop down and there's an injury sign. I'm guessing that was obvious but I'm just throwing it out there
