Ok... a week ago i didnt really have any platinums, except for a few beginner tracks and maybe one easy one. After achieving 100% completion i decided to start platinum hunting. I just have to do the tournaments, unfair bombardment, going up and inferno II... I was hoping that getting all those platinums would boost my skill level enough to get the marathon achievement before the patch hits so i can get my t-shirt... it's not lookingg good though as I still can't even get half way through without faulting...
so to all of you that have gotten it already... kudos, cuz it's a hell of a feat
i have about 2 days to keep trying so wish me luck... i got my work cut out for me![]()
good luck!! you'll need it...
personally, this announcement of the patch making UE easier has meant i haven't played UE for ages. i'm just looking to zero faulting it after the patch![]()
All you have to do is to practice in : Technique , Classic , Concert Dreams , King of the Hill
And specially King of the Hill because its the last Hard track in the UE list .. and hey Jolly jumper will be so hard if you make it to it with 0 Faults .. ur heart will beat so fast so get ready![]()
Finally watch my video to finish King of the Hill without faulting : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXQ5FBtQrk4
Sorry about the quality its taken from a mobile phone ... Good luck![]()
i just fault king of the hill at the usual spots on the odd occasion. the suspended boxes, and the jump straight after the flip.
i'm sure with practise i could nail it every time, and that's what i was practising to do. then they announced this patch so i thought "sod it"!
I found a way that's pretty fool proof for both obstacles, for the fist suspended box, I immobilize my bike while leaning forward at the near right end of the ledge, then I bunny hop by hitting left+throttle then right (be gentle) so that the bike ends up being nearly vertical and as soon as it's done, I LET ALL GO, ready to hit the brake and only the brake, and only when the rear wheel has bounce past the corner, and only your front wheel will be on the ground while you brake. Rinse and repeat for the second one and the 3rd is easy. When I do it this way, I hardly ever fault at all, the hard thing at first was letting all go because I am a control freakOriginally Posted by ben1bobDo NOT try this while on your UE run, but it could help a lot to perfect that technique in the standalone track.
For the part after the backflip, the easiest way for me by far was to land on the boxes instead of going straight for the steel plate, I tried jumping with many "fool proof" ways that ended with me landing too far or not far enough a few times until I went the other way, which you can still recover without crashing if you fall left of the boxes back unto the backflip part.
Anyway, wish you luck, you can do it.
ugh... i wanna kill myself over this achievement (not literally, so don't be concerned)... but i keep faulting on technique, and that's my best hard track... that spells bad news for me i think
Well done to the guys who got this, I know I can do it as I can do every track 0 fault seperate no problem but when it comes to UE I fall apart, probably due to the pressure of time remaining before the patch![]()
I'll have to get the damn shirt from the inevitable ebay sale![]()
good luck to the ones who havent gotten UE. If I was you guys and i really wanted to do it when u realize that u are so nervous that u cant hardly control your rider. Set the controller down do something else for a min to let the nerves calm down then go at it I found this is a great help and I was actually talking to a couple of friends at the time i did mine. After I got past KOTH I told them yes i finally did it and i was gonna wait for a min before i started JOLLY JUMPER. So I did just that but lol I did not tell them that i was starting JOLLY JUMPER and I passed it. Then I told them i just passed the UE and they didnt even get a chance to mess with my head at all during my run on JJ.
So once again GOOD LUCK
i quit... my fiancee is off work tomorrow, and i'm not about to waste all day trying to get a t-shirt
