Yes, but if for example Jmn, Pebe, NorfaiR, Hugh, SYLAR or any other top players with numerous #1 records get a 2nd profile and on a track that they are good at get 2 top ranks, for example #1 on classic and #4 on classic and then another players does it too and they are #3 on classic and #7 it makes it alot harder for the other players.Originally Posted by JormaNo, only the one on the top spot matters. agreed, but the problem was worse 6-12 months ago when ppl would literally take forever to delete their 2nd accounts.
i play a lot on new accs but i also delete very swiftly. the only time this is not true is when i've beaten my main acc on some track (for example canvas on e3). i keep it there until i beat it, or in this case until krzykd101 does
playing on a new acc can be a bit of a relief sometimes, in more ways than one. you can play relaxed, free from pressure, and you often perform better when you've got no pressure (many players have made top times while on the phone for example, you're kinda zoned out and the pressure isn't there). I use 2nd accs as a way to improve stuff i didnt know i could improve, and it's almost always cause of the no pressure thing. i have bad nerves when playing with norfair, not so much with other accs.

As I've been moving up from 300 to almost 100 I keep looking at the profiles ahead of me, and an alarming amount of them have playtimes of <20 hours. A lot of them seem to be created just to pad out Team scores.
Frankly it's really frustrating. If you're really trying to get your rank down, it's not just about being better than other players as it is about however many top ranked players have alt accounts filling up the top spots.
Out of curiosity is there any way of doing a quick check of how many accounts in the top 300 have a play time of less than 20 hours?
Edit: Quick test... I looked at the 6 players between me and 100, and sure enough one of them has a play time of 19 hours.
I have a 17 hour playtime and I'm in top 100, but it doesn't mean I have other profiles in top 100. So don't judge that if someone has a 19 hour profile on the top 100, they have more than one and are using it for a team. yeah, sorry, I guess there are legitimate reasons for having a short play time.
Though I'm not actually sure why people do that... did you just want to change your name?
