So now that the DLC is finally coming out for THD and pretty much nobody will ever touch T2SE and this forum the coming days, weeks or even months this maybe exactly the right time to post a little tool I made recently... (Or maybe not.)![]()
After a long pause of nearly a year I got into Trials again this autumn, fiercer than before. But what bugged me was, that for really (for want of a better word) "efficient" playing and getting up the ranks it was relatively hard to see which time was bad, considering how much more points were still to gain on a specific track.
The placement is a hint but as we all know points are distributed in relation to the amount of players who finished the track, a number which is accessible using the stats feature on the redlynx site but all in all that's just not that comfortable.
PROFILE POINTS COMPARISON
Enter a little tool I programmed some time ago for myself. It calculates not just the placement but the points you own on each track, for that you can now see that for example you suck terribly on Inferno - points-wise - although you find yourself on a seemingly handsome 600thish place.
To crank up the motivation even more you can compare your points with stats of another user, to see where he's good at and then slowly take his records from him, sniper-style one by one.
TEAM STATS COMPARISON
Also in the package is another tool especially for teamplay to comfortably have all the important stats of your fellow team members in one place.
Here you can see
-who holds how many and also
-specifically which record and a
-specific ranking of your team for each track.
Initially I did this only for myself, but a week ago I granted Godmil access to it. He happened to find it rather useful too and so I thought it perhaps would be a good idea to share this with you all (who are left in this forum). To cut a long story short, enter here:

Please report bugs or inconsistencies in this thread or write me a PM. I know it's not the fastest app out there (partially due to some seconds to get all the XML, so take your time when you fetch team stats with 10+ members) and somehow the total amount of points calculated don't add up that perfectly to the sum the Redlynx site gives you in the XML. I think this results from differing methods of rounding in the indivual point calculation but I don't bother much as I don't need the sum and it's not such a great difference anyway (0.5 in a ~6000 score).
Last but not least some very special thanks goes to the unkown user who owns the profile 'Deadlast'. Holding the last place on each track I think it was made some time ago to see how many players have passed each track. And for exactly this reason I use (and need) his profile data to do the all the math. So thanks for the work, mate, whoever you are and please don't change this profile.
Interesting tool. Looks cool... Tool looks cool, love how that sounds.![]()
It's been a while since i uninstalled Trials2SE, but maybe i'll return when... i pass the 1000th place milestone.
Going to experiment more with this...........
Thanks!
My bet is you will return, this game is heavier to kill than a vampire.
Thought the same, uninstalled and felt save, as I falsely assumed the serial key had been deleted alongside (and I had spent all three instances).
But I was so wrong, did a "test-installation" some months ago and the serials were still there, to my shock the game installed fine and there I am, haunted as ever.
Once an addict, always an addict.
That's a loooot of stats there.Good thing you made it public, it can be very useful.
There is a score comparison tool already but with no points involved and no team comparison(which i liked the most).
I think you deserve the true fan achievement!
Btw, DLC coming out for thd doesn't mean nothing to t2se players, we will be here no matter what.![]()
I've been using this page several times a day for the last couple of weeks, and it's just fantastic. Really helps work out where you can get more points... like did everyone know how many points you can still get in King of the Beer? Brilliant!
I'll second AkaM, and call for a True Fan award for this one.
Useful, I also agree you should get true fan!
You're welcome. And don't worry, it'll stay right there.Originally Posted by Stulley
Oh, and excellent tool. Good job. I created the DeadLast profile for the same purpose except I had an IRC-channel bot. Didn't work too well though, and it's gone now, so it's good that there's an alternative (which is better to boot).
Really cool, thanks for this great application.
Very nice that I can see on which tracks I can get a few points and which are useless to improve.
Thanks guys, expecially Neoptolemos!
If anyone has some suggestions on new stats let me know, I consider this tool far from complete.
As for me, I really would like to have a historical chart of ones ascent in the leaderboards and/or the evolution of ones track results over time, but as I assume that the whole data concentrates on the actual situation (older records get replaced and deleted in the database when you beat one of your times), this seems a bit like a headache implement... @Devs: Is this the case, actually?
