I'm really curious how all the rankings are calculated, I found an explanation for Trials HD, but I'm not sure if it's been explained for Trials 2 before.
As far as I can tell there are 100 points for each map. Are they given out based on the track leaderboard? So if you're #1 on a track you get 100 points? in which case is it possible to lose points as people beat you? Also is it a linear correlation... are the number of points between places #1500 and #1400 the same as between #500 and #400?
Also, how are the Country rankings worked out. At first I thought it was the sum of the points for the top 10 players, but I had a look at a couple of countries and they were out by about 130 points (same thing happened when I did the average of the top 10 players and multiplied by 10).
If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.
search around here theres already a thread if not multiple on this subject.
#1 gets 100 points, last one on the track gets 10 points. Every other position gives points linearly between those point boundaries.
Team and country rankings are calculated per track, for a team 4 best scores in a track and for a country 10 best scores in a track are counted. Team score can then be better than the sum of its 4 top players.
That's brilliant, Thanks Jorma. I searched for ages, but couldn't find any info on this subject.
So, ranking up on a track that fewer users have completed will net more points. That's really useful to know, I'm racing my friend up the rankings, but I've been spending ages on the easy tracks, so if I work on Diablo and YSNP I should get much more points.
Thanks![]()
I have to apologize Godmil, I thought I was replying to a post in the Trials HD boards where it has been discussed. Thats what I get for have 12 tabs with different threads on each...sorry![]()
Ha, no problem Billy
This info is really useful. I'm quickly filling up spreadsheets working out where I can grab the most points, and what that will do to my position on the leaderboards.
Incidently Jorma, did you know that if you landed 18 flips on Flip3, you'd be back in the top 100? Go on... worth a shot![]()
Hey Godmil, instead of filling spreadsheets you could try a little app I built sometime ago for exactly the same reason: To see on which track improvement is most effective, in comparison to another player of your choice. It's based on the XML-interface Redlynx provides and some JS-juggling. Not too fast but does its job quite nice in showing you the points to grab.
Unfortunately the board won't let me post a direct link with my newbie status, so if you're interested drop me a line and I PM you the url.
There's also a function to compare yourself with all your group members but without the ability to post the links there's not much sense in getting up a thread for it...
Really? But 6 is just the max I can get. I once had 7, but I faulted at the endOriginally Posted by Godmil![]()
Come on Jorma, even in supersafe mode you inevitably do 10-15 flips there!
On the other hand: Flip-3 was the track I played (and failed to nail the millionth time) when I actually broke my keyboard in anger and deleted the game for some months last year...![]()
