    MikeBMT's Tracks (NEW TRACK Mar.21 - Random)

    Hey guys,
Updating this first post to reflect changes in my current tracks.

I'd like to thank Jarr3tt88 for the awesome videos of my tracks.

    Coaster - http://www.youtube.com/user/TrialsHD.../0/1hqW1gLU_SU
    Eliminator - http://www.youtube.com/user/TrialsHD.../0/oCP2Rfth0LE
    Jungle Run - http://www.youtube.com/user/TrialsHD.../2/QVst1g10ReQ
    Trails HD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3QRmv5PFrI
    Metal - No Video yet
    Random - No Video yet

My first track is called Coaster. It's based on a wooden roller coaster type feel. It's a Medium difficulty track mostly because there are not many technical parts, just going fast and big jumps. Most of the jumps are designed for you to lean BACK on. Not necessarily the fastest option but definitely the funnest and smoothest.
I'm a huge fan of just floating really slow backflips over jumps, so I've spaced all of them to allow for that. If you land smooth, just hold back on the take-off and give'r!

Second track (Jan 21st) is called Eliminator. It's a hard difficulty track based off the final challenge in the old American Gladiators TV Series.
I've found it to be a little bit laggy, not sure why. Probably because of the physics based objects used.
Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions on how to reduce lag in the new track, I'll be glad to try it out.

Third track is called Jungle Run. It's hard difficulty, pretty quick track with about a 1 minute time.
The track is based in a jungle, you start on a cliff and ride a gondola downwards until it crashes into a tree and leaves you in the thick jungle area.
Waterfalls, streams, trees/branches. I think this is my best themed track and possibly best track yet. I hit the object limit (again) and had to take out some details such as caves, etc.

Fourth track is called Trails HD. It's a hard difficulty track but it might be considered a bit tougher than that. It's a quick track if you can hit the proper line, My best time is like 41.704 or something.
I got the idea from BMX jumps (trails) you can't land ****ty in a good set of trails and still clear the next jump. That goes the same for my track. It was tough to make a track that you had to land perfectly to continue, yet also have checkpoints involved. There's only one section where you are allowed to come up short and continue on. That being said, I don't have much decoration in this track, it is what it is. What I did make an effort of was creating some interesting fatalities on every jump if you do not clear it completely.

I'd really like to get some feedback on this latest track Trails HD. I've been getting a lot of positive Xbox comments (Hardly any here unfortunately) about my Coaster track, which is purely jumps and fun speed, so I decided to create more tracks that style. Let me know if you like that style!

    I'd really appreciate some feedback!

    UPDATE Feb 16 2009

I've been getting some feedback on Xbox live that my newest track is too hard. The 5th jump is a big step-down and if you come short at all, it triggers physics on a set of poles that are locked to the driving line, they shoot out and blow you up immediately.

In order to clear this jump without casing and triggering the poles, you need to land the 4th jump really well, and then lean back off the landing to try and bunny hop to the 5th jump.

My technique is to lean BACK off the BOTTOM of the 4th jump lip, then FORWARD off the TOP of it. Then stay leaned forward until just before the landing. Right before you land, lean BACK and you will sort of simulate a bunnyhop movement to clear the 5th jump.

I don't find it too difficult but that is because I created the track and tested it an enormous amount of times to make the jumps so perfectly spaced out that you had to really land everything almost perfect to keep going.

If anyone can give me some more feedback on this track it would help me gauge player skill (for jumps) better for my next tracks. I know that a lot of people are more into the hilly bunnyhop technique tracks, but this latest track takes a lot of jumping technique that it seems many people don't have quite yet.

Please test and feedback the latest track, Trails HD!

Fifth track is called Metal. A fun track with jumps, tech, and more jumps. There's an alternate ending in this one that can pretty drastically reduce your time to get the Plat medal.

Sixth (and newest - Mar 21) track is called Random. I called this track random because the.. theme is pretty random. I had created a track with an 'escape' idea and that only lasted until about the second jump. Then I made some wooden ramps that were pretty fun.

Then I had thought I deleted it, so I created the Metal track and used an idea that came from this track. Well, today I was 'managing' my tracks and saw one without a real name, so decided to check it out and it was the track I had not finished and thought was deleted.

So I added some physics and some jumps, a bit of technical and decorated it. This track is really fun, not very difficult but a lot of fun to ride think).
As per some comments I added some background that I hope works... but I'm bad at that thing.

Let me know what you think.

    Re: MikeBMT's Tracks

Apparently the track was corrupt and could not be downloaded.

I think I have fixed it all. I would like some comments, since I hit the limit of objects I can no longer create the background/theme I wanted to.

I've been contemplating just removing the entire middle section of the track that is a bit more technical and possibly creating a 2nd track with that style of obstacles.

Personally I just like hitting big jumps.

    Re: MikeBMT's Tracks

I've decided to split the track in two seperate sections as it is basically two seperate sections already. The front half of speedy jumps and loops will be released first.

A few messages on Xbox asking me to do the same have prompted it, I'll release them soon enough I hope.

I need more feedback please! I'll keep the beta uploaded for now with the note that once it stops being jumps and starts getting tech, that's where the tracks will be split into two seperate ones.

That way I also have more room to create scenery as I had hit the limit on the beta.

Re: MikeBMT's Tracks (New Track - COASTER)

    Finished the new track.

Called Coaster, it's got a bit of a wooden rollercoaster style to it. Fast and fun, but not completely smooth as glass, a little rickety.

It's a Medium Difficulty track, slightly redesigned the first half of a track I had previously created.

If you're a speed demon this track is for you. Not very technical, just really big.

    New track, Eliminator.

It's based off the American Gladiators TV series, lots of fun!

    Looking for some feedback.

Re: MikeBMT's Tracks (NEW TRACK - Jungle Run)

Newest track out - Jungle Run.

Themed track based in a jungle, lots of trees and branches to leap across, some pretty cool looking themed stuff if I don't say so myself.

This is my third track and I have yet to receive some feedback, I'd really appreciate some constructive criticism on what I am doing right / wrong to improve in the future.

    Lets hear it!

Coaster is fun. nice fast track.

Jungle run is pretty good. There are some things in front of the rider getting in the way of the view which bugged me .. also the objects are at an angle so its hard to tell where the bike will hit them a lot of the time. have to try it again to remember more

    Thanks for the comments.

I put the objects slightly off the riding line for a more natural feel, but I guess it makes sense that they can be confusing to those who didn't create the track. It's hard to put that perspective into tracks. When I ride other peoples tracks and they have stuff like that it annoys me, but when testing and creating your own tracks you get so used to them that you forget what it's like to run them fresh.

Definitely thanks for the input, especially from someone who's tracks I thoroughly enjoy myself!. I will consider changing Jungle Run or possibly just implement that stuff in my next tracks.

Like I said on the message on XBL...

Sick tracks man! I loved the creative design in jungle run, electrical box river FTW! The Eliminator was true to life with American Gladiators, good work! Coaster was a bit weird idk....was ok. I'm uploading the videos now, I'll link them in the morning for you.

    I recommend these tracks.

One thing I suggest you might want to do......get rid of the wall in the background and have all open sky (add trees and natural stuff in the background)
