    Public Track Sharing

I know there's a DLC coming out, and noone knows what's included in it.
And i know alot of ppl been thinking it would be a good idea to share tracks with everybody who has the game, and maybe ever add rating on it?
atm you either need to keep playing the tracks premade, or make new tracks, forgetting the fact that alot of ppl have no sense of imagination (not included) OR have tons of friends on the friendslist with trials HD...but i just think it would be a sweet update to the game to have ppl sharing the tracks they've made with the rest of the world

Believe me this is NOT the first or last post about this subject. It is a simple fact that Redlynx does not have a server to support this and without changing the sorting options, sharing tracks would be a mess...it would be easier just to host saved tracks online and then download them to your PC. Then you can use one of a few different approaches: Get a 3rd party memory card which uses SD cards, or get one of those cables you can hook up to your Xbox's hard drive and manage what on it via PC. Theres more options out there so dont count on Redlynx doing global sharing.

Currently we do not have our own servers, so we are limited to Xbox Live basic feature set. Programming the server(s) itself, and completely remaking the game level sharing system to use our own servers would be such a huge task that it's completely impossible to do as a patch. I'd say that it would take around half a year to implement and test a system like that, maybe even more. It's not a simple task to implement content downloading, uploading and searching server network, that supports half a million concurrent users and has 100% fault tolerance (load balancing, data mirroring, backup system, etc, etc).

only sharing 7 tracks is a drag, specially for those who enjoy making tracks, we should be able to share at least 10 at a time...also, i've already posted this, but we should be able to make touraments from out custom tracks, that way you can have more then 7 tracks share...7 tracks could make 1 tournament, and the other 6 slots could be fore other single tracks....even if you left the share at 7 tracks, making tournaments from our custom tracks makes good use of the tracks, and share space....
    what y'all think?

Allowing you to share 10 tracks at a time, would have limited the level size to 5.6 kilobytes. 7 x 8 kilobytes was the best compromise we could come up with.

is that also why no tournaments? sometimes you jus gotta love microsoft. making tournaments would have been nice, even if it had a 3 or 4 track max or something...

Tournaments only take few bytes each. There is no technical limitations for sharing tournaments. It just didn't occur to our minds to create a possibility to have user created tournaments. We had only limited development time in Trials HD project, and we had to abandon many more important features. I don't think we will have user created tournaments in the future Trials games either, but some kind of user created cup system for party playing would be an awesome feature.

Man, it must have been tough making those decisions to slim stuff down to make a faster, tighter game. I wouldn't sacrifice the instant gameplay mechanics for anything. I hope the next Trials game fulfills all these wishlist ideas and retains its awesome simplicity.
