    Re: Track Standards

The only thing that really gets me is when the name of the track doesn't include the creators GT. When you get around 10 requests per day, and you want to give feedback to creators, this makes it hard.
Actually I have a user creation DLed from a friend at the moment that requires you to jump off and use Y for the whole track - classic idea, but I have no idea who made it!! If anyone can tell me please do.

I usually tend to make easier tracks that to get good times on you need to be very fluid through the obstacles, but that doesn't mean that I don't like the tracks which kick you in the nuts for challenge too (as most of you know who have played my only extreme track). As long as the tracks are properly labeled then it's all cool for me.

    I totally agree.
Do you have any created maps Jorma?

Just like AsleepMenuier, i really enjoy his tracks because thier really good flowing and fun, actually makes me want to play them again and improve my score, maybe upload it onto the custom tracks leaderboard site =p

I haven't made any real maps yet in the retail box. I spend too much time playing with Trials at work currently so it feels a bit too much work when I get home

But I will make few user created tracks at some point.

    Re: Track Standards

To Op. Making Trials Map Creations based on specific guidelines is like taking away the Declaration of Independence and Freedom of Speech. Some of the most creative tracks out there are based on experimentation and Trials and error, excuse the pun. I am not a technical rider, but that does not mean I don't appreciate what goes into building a technical track from QcChopper, Lord Malcott, Tomek, Skumbag, or any of the other great tracks I have tried but failed at completing. My track que is like a collection of old vinyl albums...some I like for the songs, some I have because they are classics, and some just because they have cool album covers. In the end it all comes down to taste.

You can tell a track that the creator took some time in making...and for that I thank them for their work, others I try, give feedback (if I remember the author), and then delete it from my collection. Creativity should not be set to specific guidelines.

    Re: Track Standards

everyone has their own philosophy when making tracks...for me...

    1. classic dev style track
    2. everything has to match up and/or connect properly
    3. make you fall off at least once
    4. make the track 100% finishable
    5. make things look legit, no floating planks, nothing to farfetched (if you can help it with w/ the object limitations)

not necessarily in that order, and i'm sure there's more...but everyone has their own
