Counterweight system not working for me | Forums

i am trying to make an Elevator using a counterweight system but i can't seem to get the counterweight system to pull my elevator up.
I am using a scaffolding base and plates for the elevator and a shipping container for my counterweight but it wont work....any advice

I tried to make an elevator like this, but the counterweight got pulled over by the really small mass on the other side every time, even when I was using like 4 of the huge containers as a counterweight. I know it can be done, but all of my attempts have been unsuccessful.
