Extra Info
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Making some changes to the site to allow PC users to register on the site.
Why would I do something like that you ask, since they have track central?
I would say good question my dear chap! The goal is to upgrade the site slowly to be more of a tournament/friend tracking community.
What does this mean?
Well if you notice your tracks not getting enough attention on track central then maybe you can post them on the site and promote it that way.
What about the idea of following certain track creators and when they make an update you can get an email or something stating this and you can get his track from TC.
If I run tournaments with single or double elimination I would like to give track creators something if we end up using their tracks, so that would be a good way for us to track what track users competed on and not just state that player 1 beat player 2 on the first round.
I got some other ideas floating around in my head, that I need to iron out.
Let me know if you guys have any ideas you wish implemented.
New name change for the site. It's going to be called The Trials Network (TheTrials.Net)
Working on a feature for you to follower you favorite track creator and a notification system of when they
1. Create a new track
2. Update the track information
3. If you posted scores and someone beat it
4. Track comments? still undecided
You would choose the options you wish to track for a specific creator, so if you only care about new tracks you can select that option and forget the rest.
I don't really like emailing notifications so for the time being I'm thinking of just placing it on the site and when you go a popup will let you know that hey something you are interested in just came up.
I will be building an android app for this in the future as well, so that way you can just get a quick glance and the info is there if you are on your xbox and are not close to a tv, you can just check the track name and creator from there.
I'm thinking about re designing the site as well, but that is a last minute thing I need to get functionality going.
Count me in!!!Sounds promising!
Sounds really cool. It would give me more incentive to play and master more peoples tracks instead of playing them without really trying to master them.
Definitely interested ... you may have noticed I have recently posted a leaderboard of fastest times on my forum page.
The only thing with doing a universal one with many courses by many creators on one page is that as the author of the page you're going to be responsible for having to sort through all the scores and log them as you'll be the only one who can edit it. If it's popular and lots of people start posting you their fastest times it could be a time-consuming job ... Unless each creator is responsible for their own leaderboard on their own post within your "Leaderboard" topic.

HAHA I got the idea from your post actually. Glad to see people are interested.
The way I'm doing it now is...
Creator Posts the Track information and Medals faults and times.
Users search for the tracks and registers to them. They will enter their times and faults into the system.
When people search for the track it will show the leaderboards depending on what people entered.
This model obviously goes by the honor system. But that way is in itself manageable.
I finished the first part of the site.

I used my old website for this and hopefully people will use it, since I would like to test it out.
So far is very simple, you register and click on add new track on the control panel. Fill out the form and register the track in the system.
Once the track is in the system you can search for it by name and when the list loads. Click on the name to view details. If you are logged in you can click on the Add Track button and that will allow you to enter scores for that specific track.
After you have added a track for ranking, just go to the control panel click the update score link enter your faults and time and submit it. It should automatically update the leaderboards for that track.
There is a bunch of stuff I still need to do like.
Better error handling
Search by criterias

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Hopefully this website will work.
Excellent idea, let's see how much interest you get and whether it works. I shall certainly be using the site, it's bookmarked already!!!
Regarding any suggestions: I think you need to have a search for tracks by track name or by gamertag if possible. So people can just type my gamertag or your gamertag or whatever and get a list of all tracks by that user.
Anyway, have just registered so I shall upload my tracks and stuff now and my fastest times for them.
Many thanks for setting this up!

Gamertag search Done!
I need to also add the ability to update the track you created >_< I forgotz
You mentioned a better design in your earlier post so that was a call to put my two-bit Photoshop skills to action. Here is a quick mock-up of what I envisioned the site to be:

That looks rather sick, do you know how to slice it up and css that sucker up. I'm no designer and that includes css sadly. I don't like wasting time for the look and feel. I took my current design from my brothers website.Originally Posted by ink3i
Good job on that design mock up.
