GamerBytes releases their analysis every month. They also have a total sales chart:
    http://www.gamerbytes.com/2010/05/in...de_sales_9.php

I quickly collected all games that sold more than 300k copies from GamerBytes analysis, and made a top list of them:
    1. UNO 1879k (5$)
    2. Castle Crashers 1632k (15$)
    3. Battlefield 1943 1000k (15$) (approx)
    4. Trials HD 938k (15$)
    5. TMNT 1989 814k (5$)
    6. Marble Blast Ultra 681k (5$)
    7. Undertow 630k (free)
    8. Shadow Complex 449k (15$)
    9. A Kingdom for Keflings 410k (10$)
    10. N+ 382k (10$)
    11. Sonic 2 380k (5$)
    12. Geometry Wars 2 375K (10$)
    13. Braid 364k (15$)
    14. Sonic 1 361k (5$)
    15. Pinball FX 356k (10$)
    16. Peggle 353k (10$)

UNO has sold so much because it was one of the first XBLA games, and it costs only 5 bucks (400 MS points). Battlefield 1943 doesn't have any leaderboards (it has only multiplayer) so it's not part of GamerBytes sales tracking. BF 1943 reached one million sold copies a month ago according to official sources (EA made a press release about it here: http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/batt...ion-units.aspx). Trials HD is selling more than BF 1943 every week, so it soon reaches the all time top 3.

If you take the game price into account, then the top 3 is Castle Crashers, Battlefield 1943 and Trials HD (all 1200 MS points games). Castle Crashers is in a clear lead, and Trials HD and Battlefield are pretty much even for second place (for now). It's unlikely that Trials HD ever reaches Castle Crashers, but the second place in all time charts is no bad feat for our fist XBLA game

ive played castle crashers and its a good game, it has a 4 player online multiplayer campaign that is really fun. I think trials hd is a better game but it is missing the key part that brings gamers together so they can enjoy the game together as a group. I think if trials hd 2 had multiplayer it would take number 1.

Re: Official weekly top sold XBLA games charts (Major Nelson)

Just wanted to jump on to point out that Trials HD is 20th in live activity report this week (majornelson) which is amazing since it was released last August.

Rellay amazing job guys. I stopped playing for a couple of months due to uni and work (and red dead redmption recently) but I have gone back to it. I hit top 300ish in GL but have now slipped to about 600.

On the weekend I actually got another zero fault run on an extreme track, after not playing for months so it was good to know that I still got it (some of it anyway.)

thanks again for an aesome game but any hints about Trials 2 would be great.

I guess the risk si that an announcment would slow the trials HD sales and while It is still turning cash over, you dont want to rush it.....

    Thanks again guys. Great work!

And it was on place 16 last week... just above Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed 2 and Borderlands

    http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/...f-june-14.aspx

This is how Trials HD scored on the all games most played list on last August (game release):
    Week of Aug.10th: 8th
    Week of Aug.17th: 9th
Week of Aug. 24th: not in top 10 (only top 10 best was shown last year - most likely Trials HD was in place 11 or 12)
    Week of Aug. 31st: 10th
After this week the game fell out of top 10 (but likely remained in top 20 for a long time)...

When Major Nelson extended the top 10 most played list to show top 20 most played games, Trials HD was straight back in the list in 17th place:
    Week of Jan 25th: 17th
    Week of Feb 8th: 19th

And now (mainly because of the 560 point sale), we are back again:
    Week of June 14th: 16th
    Week of June 21st: 20th

So it seems that the game is still hugely popular. Many high budget games such as Split Second, Blur and Alan Wake never even made to the top 20 most played list (not even on their launch weeks). Trials HD has done exceptionally well since it's the only live arcade game that has remained in the most played games list for more than a few weeks. Most live arcade games do not even reach that list. Shadow Complex was one week in the (top 10) list, Battlefield 1943 was four weeks, Toy Soldiers was two weeks (in the top 20 list) before dropping down and Snoopy scored one 20th place. That's pretty much it for all the XBLA games...

imagine how high trials will be on that list with multiplayer races (hint, hint)

This has to be in... I even have spent some time training people online to help them improve, but imagine how much better this would be when the other player can see a live ghost or something of your race, while chatting with them...

Also i really need a hardcore mode where checkpoints are turned off. When going for a zero fault run, just want to hit B and go to start again instantly. I know you can hit back but then the countdown happens again...

Or a manual checkpoint setting where you can practice a section of track.

But yeah, multiplayer support in some form has to be supported and this game will truly be brilliant.
