And another, unrelated question. Anyway to look up the times for previous medals? Like if I get gold right away, can I check up what the requirements for silver are?

It does not matter what kind of music we put in to the game. Someone will always complain about it. One of our testers for example didn't like the occasional metal riffs on the sound track.
That metal riff is effin awesome! That tester didn't know what he was talking about.

The game logic in tournament works differently than in single track mode. When you push B to restart to the last checkpoint, if you are not yet reached the first checkpoint, your faults are reset to zero in single race mode, but in tournament mode your fault counter remains.[/quote]

I don't see why that is a problem as all it means is that it is slightly harder to beat your times, I would understand if doing tracks in tournaments made setting quick times easier.

Re: No restart button in Tournaments

I'd be all for the quick restart via the back button for the entire tournament. That button is what makes this game so addictive and playable time and time again. Just like Geometry wars you can mash the A button real quick to start another game and you keep on truckin'.

Any way to put a counter on the code for this? In Tourny mode quick restart if tracks completed < 10, if > 10 than give confirmation prompt upon Back button press.

It's a problem for the current replay system. The game logic would need to be altered to show replays differently if the score was made inside a tournament. If we wanted this feature, we would need to change the replay file format (save a marker if tournament is active in the replay file). Changing the replay file format is a bit problematic in the patch, as there are already have full 5000 replays for each track (total of over 200k replays). We all agree in the team that it would have been great to be able to improve the scores inside the tournaments, but sadly we cannot implement this as a patch. Something to learn for the next game.

Good answer. I like to read your technical descriptions of the things going on under the surface.

Cant expect another Trials game on the next Xbox generation. I suggest:

    Trials Real HD
    Trials 1080
    Trials Revolution

bye bye and thanks for making my favorite Arcade game

Erm... personally I'd prefer another on this generation. Even a few DLC tracks would be nice, though the community does well on its own.

P.S.: Being a real person, I sent the captcha through filters so I could read it...

If you are on the first track of a tournament, the restart button should restart the whole tournament. I see no reason why people would like to start a tournament with one or more faults...

This is a highly special case. It would cause confusion if we allowed R button in the first tournament track but disabled it in later tracks. It's more logical to disable the R button completely. But I agree that we should have had the option "Restart the Tournament" in the in-game pause menu.
