Need help ASAP with physics.
I want to stop an object from falling in mid-air... I know this is possible, I seen this in an incredible map called Time Chamber by shiftycourtney. It was based on the game Braid, you used switches to make stuff fall and stop in mid air, and fall a little more and stop it again just by going back and forth hitting switches. I can't seem to do it... Here's my setup:
I activate a switch that activates the physics on an afterburner powerup to make it fall but it breaks when it hits the ground so I want it to stop, so I made another switch in the item's way and checked "physics" so that the falling item would trigger the switch and add physics to it, but since they are already turned on by the other switch shouldn't it cancel the physics so the object stops falling? I can't get this to work.

Trigger it again with no physics to stop it (no X on the physics checkbox).

Already tried that and it didn't work, in the meantime I found a way to make my puzzle work with another method, but I'll sure try it again eventually.

make trigger and turn animation on, but without physics and it will stop the item in mid air

Re: Need help ASAP with physics.
I've had the same problems, and tried these solutions as well. Does it possibly matter if the object was triggered in the first place, and whether the object can trigger its own physics off?

Doesn't Animation stop stuff? I know someone made a thread about the bridge thing that was on the editor trailer.

yes you caN STOP any item by turning on animation with a trigger, but PHYSICS off

Re: Need help ASAP with physics.
My problem was and still is that certain objects like bombs, fire and afterburner in this case can't activate triggers
Turning the animation works if I right into the trigger, and it doesn't do it for what I wanted to do, and in this specific case with the afterburner, once you play with the animation box, the powerup becomes a solid object therefore isn't a powerup anymore and I didn't find a way to revert it.
