Swing,
I thought i would post this in a new topic as the other one was a poll.
Hi, All
I have been trying to make a solid swing that the rider can jump onto and then off the other side, i have not had much luck with it tbh. I currently have it set where it will not swing and the bottom platform just drops in to the abysis once the trigger is triggered. I have done a small diagram below of what i have at the moment, if anyone can help that would be great.

The trigger is set to turn physics on and is grouped with both of the top hinges. If anyone can do a step by step for a solid swing that would be great.
Thx, Rich

Re: Swing,
I had swings in my level... I used 2 free rotation hinges.
I'll see if I can use my phone's camera to make a step by step.

Re: Swing,
Right, here we go. Poor quality images but you get the idea.
This is a pretty simple swing, but it works perfectly.
Get a medium metal plate, 2 short metal poles and 2 free rotation hinges and position them like this (make sure physics is enabled on the 2 metal poles and metal plate):

Add an object or 2 to act as a base for the hinges (no physics). I used tyres, because you can then place another 2 after the swing is finished to obscure the poles from view.

Select the pole closest to you and glue it to:
One side of the free rotation hinge
The metal plate at the bottom
Then repeat for the other pole.

Glue your base objects to the other side of the hinge to the pole.

Now rotate it into the position you want:

Check that works properly, then to trigger the object, the simplest way is as follows:
Create a piece of glass (no physics), and hide it somewhere near the swing where the player won't see it. Then hold down the left bumper, and select the metal plate part of your swing. Then glue that part to the glass. This will stop the swing from moving.
Then simply create a trigger that will break the glass. As soon as the glass breaks, your swing will... swing.
You can also set up the glass so that it blocks the path of the swing, rather than gluing it to anything - the swing will try to swing forward and but will be stopped by the glass. When the glass breaks, the swing goes forward.

Re: Swing,
Wow, I replied to your post on my thread earlier. Just because it is a Poll doesn't mean it's a thread, dude. This is extremely simple, you shouldn't even need to ask, but anyway..
Stiff Swing:
1.) Create your Rotation Base
2.) Create the poles you will use to move your object.
3.) Add your platform.
4.) Set the pole(s) to Physics: On ( Keep your Platform and Rotation Base's physics off. )
5.) Add 1 free rotation hinge to the center of your Rotation Base.
6.) Glue the pole(s) to the back side of the Free Rotation Hinge.
7.) Glue the Rotation Base to the front side of the Free Rotation Hinge.
8.) Glue the platform to the pole(s).
9.) Add a trigger, make sure the poles do not touch the trigger when physics is tested, and set the trigger to turn the Platform's physics on.
10.) Place the entire design to the desired angle.
There you go, that's how to make a Stiff Swing. That swing, however, is sort of boring. But oh well, it's your choice of what you want to use.

Re: Swing,
Hi,
Thanks both for your help,
@flipstick - i know i should not need to ask for help on this as it seems straight forward, but what can i say i did not know how to do it and therefore asked for help. In your text you said "Just because it is a Poll doesn't mean it's a thread" i am guessing you mean not a thread. Just thought people may not look at the replys becuase its a poll.
Anyways thanks for your help,
