Hello, im curious if a successful game like this pays out for the developers.
I am also a developer at a big company but I am paid independent from any projects. I always get the same. What about you? Do you pay the developers more money when a game becomes a hit?
When I look at the sells of around 250.000 then it is around 4 Million $ for now.
That sounds much, but computers are expensive, software is expensive, Microsoft wants money for offering the game and running the records database, an office... and so on and so on.
Then you have to pay your people (around 10?) for the time of development. (1year?)
So back to my topic subject: Can all of you afford a Ferrari now, like John Carmack from ID Software, or do you have to drive scooters? lol..
Sorry for the stupid question, I really dont expect a serious answer, Im just really curious
